Why does everyone always find God?

They don't. Thank god fuck.

Just the default option for many, I'd say. If only cos they're born into a society that knows no alternative nor would begin to consider one. Mindless tradition is a bitch. That plus godfolk prey on the weak mercilessly :|

but there can be so many alternatives when wondering...its interesting who might you come up with alone ;)

You don't find God, he finds you. It's easy for him because you're just an insignificant person and he's God. If he wants to find you it's not like you can run and hide.

have you ever tried ibogaine? maybe, then, you would understand why people believe in "god"

I don't understand this? I know when people walk and have a dance off with death or become a substance abuser and are rock bottom, they usually always find "God".

This could be true about those people who were never even religous to begin with. I'm catholic and that's how I was brought up. After my confirmation I decided to give up on church and God. It was a personal choice. Then the whole church/child abuse scandal broke out..

So ya I was abused when I was an alter boy. I was also abused by an old neighbor who was eventually convicted of sexual child abuse on little kids. It's a deamon that I fight with all the time but my personal experiences is a whole different discussion.

I have hit rock bottom before, I've Overdosed 3 times and was revived. I never had a calling with God and felt the need to become Spiritual. I was raised as a Catholic, I have my beliefs in my heart, and that's all I need. I don't need to be preached or go preaching about religion and God and faith.

I just don't understand how people get so spiritual and start becoming all God like when they take drugs. Is it the regret and remorse in the person when they take drugs and they are trying to say sorry to God??

:\:\:\:\:\

I've always been taught not to discuss race, religion, and politics. Especially in a work/school environment

i'm going to add to my previous post...

when somebody has "hit rock bottom," their brain chemistry is simply more receptive to the experience we call "witnessing god."

it's much better to meet god in a happy state, using psychedelics or natural methods. but it'll pop up where it'll pop up...

your insignificance is what
is what is most mighty in "gods" significance

^^glad you see what i mean
:)

anyone can sit and look at a mountain, or the ocean and know that
they stand no chance of overtaking or challenging either, but,
while being totally humbled, and in aw alone, it is just as easy to realize that
such magnificence can bring one(you) into a state of humbling aw -
that it seems as if there was no-one to feel such inspiration, it would begin to go to waste
from there mentally and soulfully, spiritually, that view becomes a sense
our gift as people, our intellect, animated senses of perception etc

not everyone finds God, but seems when they do though, their idea of it stays with them.

One is always inclined to find God because He is in all things and He is our all time savior.

Whether you are a drug addict in america, or being chased by a lion in africa, or some other problem somewhere else in the world where you may have hit a rock bottom, the Lord will always come to relief you from your pains and sorrows; this is why He is always looked upon with such reverence and devotion throughout time immemorial and for all of eternity. All religions speak of him as being the one who brings light and salvation, truth and redemption. This is always the theme of God. This is what Krishna means. Krishna means "all attractive". This is a feature that only one being in all of existence can claim to. No matter what problem you are facing, no matter what race, age or species, whether animal or human, event plant, or some other entity, the Lord will always attract you to Him, for He is the very one you cry out for in all of your pains and sorrows.

He is the very source of all of creation and it is because of our ignorance of Him that we find ourselves in pain, grief and sorrow or suffering in general.

If we can learn to find the God within ourselves, He will guide us to Him and relieve us from our suffering.

The highest vibrations are always attracted to the lowest, and vice versa. Usually, it takes someone to hit rock bottom before they admit their faults and accept help from someone else, maybe a friend, or a family member. But who is our best friend and father for all of eternity, in this lifetime and the next? Who has always been there for us, even when we thought we were alone? Only but our Lord and Father, a Divine unity and oneness expanded in all things, the very expression of Love and Grace.

Hmmm... this is a really good question. You have me thinking. Personally, I grew up very religious (Mormon) but haven't had any part in religion since I was 18. I'm 24 now. I have a difficult time believing in a god, at least a personal one. It's possible though. That said, I'm a very spiritual person. I do believe there is more than we know of, more than we see, etc. I would say I believe there is a higher power or order to the universe, just not sure its intelligent or a being. Anyways, your question has me thinking. I think maybe when extreme trauma happens and we have no control over it, and we don't understand it, I think maybe humans to turn to something outside of themselves to explain it or to cope with it. If that makes sense... I think that is part of why religion exists, humans have always had a need to explain the unknown or what they don't understand. I wish I could explain what I'm trying to say a little better but hopefully it makes sense.

Great idea! We all know the core to having a rigorous and accurate understanding of the universe is to take psychedelics and go with whatever intoxicant inspired idea you get.

K, thats cool, I'll stick to the scientific method tho.

I'm a drug user and I never found God. If anything, doing drugs just killed God even further.

sure, you could say that god is more easily seen in certain neurochemical states (anxiety, high frontal lobe activity... e.g. we've invented a "god helmet" that non-invasively induces a spiritual experience using magnetic fields).

anxiety, "rock bottom", etc, this is only one neurochemical state that correlates with being chemically receptive to god.

All religions speak of him as being the one who brings light and salvation, truth and redemption. This is always the theme of God
in the context of hitting rock bottom, sure.

i think you are confusing "the Lord" with "yourself"...

i think we "psychote" (split off) a portion of ourselves (during our early development), and let it watch over us, and then when we talk to it or recieve wisdom from it, it feels as if we are talking to god (but we're really talking to a portion of ourselves). blasphemy! :) maybe this line of thought could be used to help explain many mental illnesses that deal with paranoia... maybe religion is a mass mental illness... but i'm trying to use words to get at something beyond language...

yeah, and who is it?

bjork is so strange.

no it isn't, have you read the old testament? he's quite the genocidal maniac.

I agree.

existence or not, I don't want to have any kind of "relationship" with any omniscient being, presence, energy or whatever.
The best time to hear the word "god" is during sex-
>.>

anyways, i really don't care what millions of people think, on a lot of levels (like most of you, I'm sure). there is no proof one way or another, and so I lost interest in god a long time ago. It's just boring.

...so boring.
