Bupe Why Do I ALWAYS Go into Precipitated W/D's with Subs? Someone Help me Figure this out

I have used suboxone successfully in the past to come off opiates, however when I have attempted to use it anytime this past year (approximately 5 times) I have ALWAYS been thrown into immediate precipitated withdrawals. I have never waited less than 18 hours, and Have waited up to a full 24 hours on two occasions. I was always using oxy at the times I attempted to come off and use the subs.

Is it possible that some people are just predisposed to precipitated withdrawals? It makes NO sense that the last time i attempted to induct myself on Subs that my last dose of oxy (90mg--was using about 300mg/day) was taken at 4pm, went to bad, woke up SICK, managed to get all the way to 4pm the next day (A FULL 24 HOURS) and as soon as i did 3mg of Suboxone, 5min later i had the familiar cold flash go down my body and immediately I was thrown into precipitated withdrawals.

Any information would be appreciated, as It doesn't make sense to me that waiting 24 hours after a 90mg dose would not be enough time. It is also worth noting that I ALWAYS feel the withdrawal symptoms in under 12 hours after my last dose. So its not like I am waiting 24 hours and not feeling the withdrawals yet still taking Sub, Its always a FIGHT to get to the 24 hour mark as I am SICK AS A DOG.

Information is appreciated as I said, It just doesn't make sense to me. I have been trying to use the 5 or so 8mg suboxone i have for the past month, as I am trying desperately to come off opiates again. I am just scared to death to use the subs again after the past few experiences have been living hell (those who have been through precips know exactly what i mean)... I am getting some benzos tomorrow and after my stash of oxy is gone (sunday most likely) I am going to give it a try again, taking the xanax for the initial day in order to make it to the 24 hour mark. Would it be wise to just attempt to knock myself out and try to wait 36 hours? Or does time not really matter after 24 hours have passed with a drug with such a short half life as oxy?

When you first get into the Sub program, they ask that you wait a full 48 hrs of no drug use to start taking Bupe. I ran out of Oxys and went to my bupe stash and for the first 2-3 days everytime i took it i would feel like i was WDing though it wasnt as bad as if i had run out of oxys and had no bupe so it helped me even though it was causing wd like symptoms. It just takes a little time for your other drugs to clear your system. Hope this helps. What method are you using to take the bupe? Sublingual, sniff, plug, iv?

I found (through my PREVIOUS successful use of suboxone) that Snorting the pills enabled me to use as little as 1mg per day on most occasions so I usually sniff the pills. Although there have been times recently when I have only gotten the Strips and used them sublingually, and waited 24 hours, and still entered precipitated w/ds, so clearly it is not the method.

I guess I just have to wait even longer, which blows my mind because everyone and every drug timeline/scale/informational kit I've come across says that for oxy IR (not extended release) the waiting period before suboxone induction is 12-24 hours, and even know friends who are able to take suboxone 12 hours after their last dose and be totally fine. Its just very frustrating because I want to quit again so badly but I've used up all my sick days at work (and unfortunately I'm in that group of people that gets VERY dope sick, not just sniffles and hot/cold- like puking shitting everywhere crying haha) so thats why I need this suboxone to work!!! In the past when it has worked for me its a godsend, I feel totally normal for 24-36 hours after doing 1-2mg of suboxone and after a week-10days on the subs (weaning down over that period) i stop taking it and voila- no withdrawals

How long has it been now? And I hate the strips lol, the pills are so much better. And railing is the way to go imo. It takes less amount of the drug and lasts just about as long. I feel for ya man, im the same way with WD's its utterly horrid for me, I get Restless Leg Syndrom so bad lol it pisses me off so much and everything that touches me, even my clothes hurt my body becomes so sensitive.

I don't know why it is happening (well, obviously you are not waiting long enough, but it seems you need a longer waiting period than most others) but I would suggest taking an even lower dose next time, as well as waiting a little longer. If the .5 or 1mg doesn't put you into precipitated withdrawal, then you should be safe to take another mg.

With how long you have to wait though, it seems like it may be worth it to just ride it out, or to taper down with a different opiate. A methadone taper would probably be in your best interests, but I don't know if it is available to you.

A lot of people I know always get "sick" immediately after taking bupe, no matter how long they waited. It usually only lasts for about 45 minutes or so, then they slowly start to feel better. I'm not trying to tell you that you aren't actually going into precip. withdrawals, but just saying, many people feel worse for a short period right after dosing.

However the obvious answer, if you really are going into precip.WD is that you just didn't wait long enough...even though you are sick, there is still enough on your receptors to make you go into PWD's.

I generally iv between 4-5 grams of black tar gunpowder in a span of roughly an hour or so when using in 1-1.5g increments. In my experience, I generally have to wait at the very minimum 30 hours since the first shot the day before to avoid full blown precp. w/ds, even if at that point they last 10-15 minutes of moderately worse w/ds than I was already experiencing. Once I get around the 36 hour mark, I can safely take sub without any adverse effects, but even then I start slowly. Start with 2mg and work my way up to between 8-12mg, which is my scripted daily dose.

I'm not saying that this applies to you as well, because for all I know that really is how your personal body chemistry works, but in my experience, the majority of people physically addicted to opioids build up the withdrawal in their minds, causing themselves to start feeling physical symptoms hours before they would actually be starting. We opioid addicts are so worried and fearful of withdrawing that our expectations cause physical symptoms just by how much we are expecting them; placebo effect in a way. I used to do the same thing, but once I just let go of worrying and obsessing over when its going to start, I found that I lasted so much longer feeling fine. I used to iv a gram at 7am to get me through work (again, my usual dose was around 4), but once I just relaxed about it, I realized I could go till at least 9-930pm before I just started to have really mild restless legs and a little yawning

Didn't read all the responses so forgive me if someone already said this but try waiting as long as possible then take 1mg, wait 1-2hrs if you feel a little relief and not Precip. WDs then slowly up your dose.
