all time - isaac buce
a class act, an amazing talent, kind soul, made the most clutch play in ram's history with his 70 some yard game winning td catch in superbowl 34...seriously that play was sick, the ball was underthrown, bruce knew it but played it off as he didn't, decelerated, made the catch broke a tackle and took it to the house...the greatest sports moment of my life, i was 12 years old and had some friends over for the superbowl and they cheered for the rams with me, after the game i took off my jersey and prayed on it, little did i know i might never feel dat feel again...this was the first year i had a favorite team and cared about the nfl thanks to fantasy football,i decided rams were my favorite team because i liked using them in the madden video game, i had no clue they were 4-0 at the time and lighting up everyone

may not be first ballot, but this man will be a hall of famer

current: cortland finnegan

quite the 180, i go from class to trash, i totally understand if you hate this jersey shore wanna-be scumbag, because i used to feel that way, but god damn does he love the shit out of football and you can see it in how hard he plays, not really a revis type shut down corner, is actually best when lined up in the slot, a great tackler for a corner, and just an amazing play maker. he's going to piss off opposing wide receivers with his dirty play and that's a great intangible attribute for a player, even though he might get called for a few personal fouls a year, sometimes it's totally worth it imo.. the man is a leader and i think the biggest impact free agent signing in the previous off season for anyteam and i really feel like he will help janoris jenkins(and maybe fellow rookie trumaine johnson, out of the university of montana) develop into great players, maybe ultimately becoming more talented than finnegan himself, i also dig that finnegan went to samford. props to jeff fisher for drafting him in the 7th round in the 2006 draft, i feel like fisher/finnegan have a love relationship similar to what brandon lloyd/josh micdaniels has

i trust that cortland is committed to the rams(or maybe just fisher) in the long run and will retire as one...i think fish will be coaching this team for at least 10 years

i have not had a favorite player since isaac bruce was traded to the niners, feels good man and i might actually buy a jersey
the only jersey i have is an isaac bruce blue/yellow(old colors) that my aunt got me for chirstmas back in '99 and i still wear that shit with pride every sunday, i wish they would go back to those colors and can't wait till they wear them for that one game this year, hopefully it's vs san fran cause over the past few years those jerseys have had some banging winning magic(see vs saints last year)

honorable mentions: two former ACC standout defensive ends chris long(UVA) and robert quinn(UNC...didn't even play his last year in college due to year long suspension, was still 14th overall pick in 2011 draft, turns out spagnolo actually did something good for the rams)....both of those dudes are young and extremely talented pass rushers, pretty sure they nicknamed themselves chocolate thunder and white lightning, long doesn't have too many sacks this year but is top 3 in qb hurries and knockdowns and a great defending the run and quinn has 5-6 sacks thus far including 3 in previous victory over arizona, needs to improve on stopping/tackling vs the rush....these guys can ultimately be better than kevin carter/grant wistrom from the '99 rams team

janoris jenkins: how big of a scumbag do you have to be to get kicked out of U of FLA? the fact that i hate everything about FLA says a lot, who cares, fisher will keep him in line, he's more than just a shut down cb(i don't watch college ball that much from what i understand when he was a freshman he shut down both aj green and julio jones, that's saying a lot), he's also a pretty damn big hitter, needs to stay out of trouble and not get burned on the deep ball so often...him and finnegan call themselves Cortnoris, i trust that he will develop as long as he can stay out of jail and stop having children

rookie kicker greg zuerlein aka Legatron, greg the leg and young GZ: this dude is amazing, last year was kicking at missouri western university, has not missed a fg yet and kicks absolute bombs(want to say at least 7 fgs over 45 yards, with 60 being the longest which came in a game he also had a 58 yarder in a 19-13 victory over seattle), i feel like anything within 70 yards in a dome is doable....he will break the record for longest FG(hopefully this year, as time runs out vs san fran) and is a future hall of famer

marion barber III and eric decker: the pride of u of minnesota over the past 10 years, fucking loved barber's runs style, it's easy to understand why he had to retire after last season, i loved watching him play in his prime at dallas, when him and maroney were running together at minnesota it was nothing for them to rack up 300 yards vs ANYONE, the best 1-2 punch in the last 20 years in my somewhat unbiased opinion

i hope this wasn't too much of a tl'dr, it came straight from the <3

i dig calvin johnson, seems like a good dude and is a fucking freak

so far his season has been ho-hum for him...maybe the madden curse? nah, it's only a matter of time before he has a streak of 2+ tds imo

i didn't even realize that dante hall ended his career as a ram in '07, probably cause my sports memory isn't what it used to be

my all time favorite kick returner was tony horne for the rams back in '99, he had a great year and loved az-zahir hakim as a punt returner/slot WR

although i hate hakim for muffling a punt in the 4th quarter in the first round of the 2000 playoffs vs the saints, rams were going to come back and win on that drive....i have a burn on my hand to remember that game forever....after the game i lit a string from a stop watch on fire with a candle, the flame got big and i tried to shake it out and it stuck right on the outside of my hand below my thumb lol

although rams were lucky to make the playoffs that year, they needed the than awful bears team to beat the lions at the final silver dome game in week 17, paul edinger kicked like a 55 yard field goal as time expired

Former
Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Merton Hanks, Barry Sanders

Im too young to really remember Montana, but I do remember watching Steve Young destroy the Chargers in the Superbowl. They were my dads team so I kind of became a fan after that. Jerry Rice and Steve Young made it look so easy... I really didnt understand how crazy they were at the time. I thought everyone's teams just threw and caught the ball and got first downs almost every time just like the 49ers did during that era. Merton Hanks touchdown dance is hilarious and Barry Sanders was the best running back ever IMO.

Currently
Adrian Peterson, Trent Richardson, Vernon Davis, Calvin Johnson

I basically picked all these guys because they are one of a kind freak athletes.

no jimmy grahm crackers?

he's one alien looking freaky ass talented mother fucker

one of my favorite players too is takeo spikes

he's been in the league since 1998 and has had a great career, yet has never played in a playoff game, owns the record for most games played without playoff game

i hope the chargers make the playoffs so bad, just for this guy

i hate the eagles, but mccoy is a pretty cool cat

very hard for me to say anybody other than barry sanders.

favorite active player... ray lewis might get the nod from an intellectual level, but gut level, tony Gonzalez makes me happiest. ;)

Ray Lewis is just my favorite. Dude is a killer (out on the football field ;) )

If I had to pick a former player it would probably be Lawerence Taylor or Reggie White. Brings me back to an era when football players were allowed to be maniacs, instead of having to hide it all the time.

Ed Reed, Michael Irvin, and all the other Canes who kill shit in the NFL every week since 1983 deserve props as well.

"I'm hurt dawg. Don't ask me if I'm alright. Hell naw. Joaquin said Dominate, and we not doin it. I'm puttin my heart into this shit dawg. Let's go maaan!"

So am I the only one that has a mancrush on Trent Richardson? I think he's phenominal.

mos def Ray Lewis. he always has me watching Ravens games, and I love his thug ass attitude. in nfl match ups, i always pick the blacker, more thug team, and Lewis automatically makes the Ravens 100x blacker than anyone else.

former?

i guess jerry rice because he's into tantric sex and buddhism or something.

awww yea

I would have to say either ray lewis or flacco, ravens fucking aye

telling someone that the camera man is going to find ray lewis before a game, in the early stages of leading some kind of motivational pow-wow, is easily the most predictable play in the game
