Who else is bored with getting drunk?

I started drinking aged 17. I found it extremely euphoric and I never had hangovers. This all began in December of 2012 when I got drunk for the first time. These days, I just get a tired "dirty" feeling from alcohol. I feel depressed, tired and suicidal. I'm currently 6 bourtbon and colas in, and just feel like death, severe nausea and depression, which I didin't have before starting drinking today. Alcohol has "lost its magic" as MDMA users say. I am now turning to Opiates, GHB, and CLonazepam/Xanax to replace it. The opiates (oxy) and GHB are 1000x as euphoric, with no comedown or hangover.

I still like a drink, just don't do it often. I also like mdma I love it lol, but only do that around 5/6 times a year. I like opiates too but I don't do them often at all they can be pretty addicting. Benzos are much much worse I don't really like them that much but they're really good for the day after mdma (I don't get mdma comedowns but my mind is a bit foggy afterwards so I take a valium and smoke some weed to take advantage of it lol). What opiates are you talking about here dude?

I got very bored with getting drunk, it was only about twice a no the on weekends, but its just got to be stupid & I quit.

More or less everyone reaches this stage. Once you've tried other downers which are 100x more enjoyable with a fraction of the side effects, it's pretty hard to go back to booze.

I completely disagree. Alcohol, etizolam, and xanax are my drugs of choice. I have a tolerance to each of them and function quite normal. I can't function without my benzos and it's hard for me to feel content without a beer to go with. The cravings come and go but lately they have been coming and staying longer if you know what mean. To sum it all up, finding good downers did nothing to ease my desire for booze, but only made it worse.

I miss the social aspect of alcohol, like drinking with people at the bar or at a party, etc. The actual recreational effects of alcohol...well, it's safe to say that I prefer a variety of other drugs over booze if I have the choice. Other downers like tranquilizers or heroin just make me lazy and complacent, though, and I'm "satisfied" to sit at home and get high.

Alcohol turns people into morons really fast. That's something I've always hated about it as a substance. I've never really been a hard drinker, ethanol is one drug I prefer moderation with, so it has always really irritated me when people become "sloppy drunks". My preferred use of alcohol is actually to use a low amount (2-3 drinks) in conjunction with another substance, like marijuana, Xanax or cocaine. :D

i drink, i still do like it a lot. mainly because my job puts me in an atmostphere where i am around alcohol. i do get pretty bad hangovers but oxys definitely help me. if i drink during the day, i do feel the tired dirty i think you are describing. i guess with alcohol i go in and out of phases but it definitely helps me with my anxiety at work

Oxycodone, orally dosed. It took me a few goes to "get" it, but now I can take 20mg and be in heaven for a few hours, then slowly comedown with no hangover. Alcohol is like being poisoned and brain damaged in comparison.

By my math you are about 20? You shouldn't start demonizing alcohol so young.

Here's a few thoughts

1 are you sure you are hydrated when you drink? Or have something in your stomach?
2 do you always drink the same thing? Liquor does horrible things to me as does wine when it comes to hangovers and side effects but I greatly enjoy the strongest of beers without trouble.
3 are you drinking too much? Taking a normal dose after a period of sobriety could definitely be bad news
4 do you drink too fast? Or measure your drinks too big by accident and get the same result? Its much more pleasant to be buzzed than actually DRUNK.

I find it hard to believe that your young body could alter itself so quickly to be averse to alcohol. It has to be in the method of drinking or psychological.
I am not encouraging you to drink if you are done with it. A life without alcohol is better than a life with one. (No I'm not saying alcohol is bad I'm saying teetotaling is productive!)

Liquor is so much better than beer IMO. A few shots of some quality vodka + a few lines of "decent cocaine" = a good time

Glad you're figuring this out early on.

Alcohol is like the Stone Age equivalent of a decent drug.
In a better world, we'd have that benzo wine that one scientist created.
No hangovers, less mental distortion, and far, far less of a 'dirty' drug.

alcohol sucks. i still drink a few beers here and there, but more than 2 or 3 drinks and the side effects creep in. plus the enjoyable part is about an hour, the shitty part is then multiple hours.

I'm 19. I think the heavy binge drinking I did in senior year of HS+ freshma year of college, have just put me off alcohol for life. I get extreme hangovers now, even a six pack of beer makes me feel like death unless I drink huge amounts of water iimmediately after I finish the alcohol. I think discovering other drugs has also exposed alcohol for how unenjoyable it really is. Even benzos are more euphoric to me now, in particular clonazepam.

Yeahh drunkenness is pretty boring for me. I got bored with it as soon as I discovered other drugs. A good dose of heroin is better than a shitton of alcohol. Though I must say, Sex on the Beach cocktails are tasty as fuck.

Alcohol was my first love back when I was a teenage but as the years passed I tried other drugs I liked them more, but alcohol still is something I like and will never turn down an opportunity to get drunk especially if it's free haha. I also enjoy beer on a speed comedown

Chances are high that you will lose the "magic" with the other drugs, too - sooner or later. They are all quit addictive and you could get with them in a lot of trouble. I doubt that stepping up the ladder will be good for you in a long term. Just take a look at what users on bl write about their opiate, ghb and benzo addictions.

Maybe just try to slow down with the alcohol and limit it to special events.

Alcohol really to me is only good to take off anxiety, stress, and unwanted thoughts, to loosten up after a bad day with a few shots of hard liquor.

That`s just me though, never got `social drinking`, drinking tea, coffee, soda leads to a much better conversation with someone, and virtually any hard drug is superior to alcohol for partying.

I guess because it is legal and everywhere it is so over-rated.
