Whats your favorite nutritional supplement, or any supplement for that matter. Just one please! Now tell what's so hot about it.

good question

I'd say DHA because it is preatty much the only supplement I HAVE to take on a vegan diet. This is because the only non-animal source of it is pounds of algea and seaweed.

whats yours urb?

Ha, that is a good question. I hadn't thought about it for myself.

I sell supplements for a living and I take a lot.

Because of my lifestyle I would say Milk Thistle is about my fav. The liver is such an important organ in overall health. Milk thistle, protects the liver from so many real or imagined toxins in our diet. Usually a healthy liver means a healthy body. Thanks for asking.:)

My daily vitamin I view as almost necessary, and fish oil.

URB, can you PM your company name, and a web site? Thanks!

multi, vit c, vit e, K-R-alpha lipoic acid, n-acetly-cysteine, grape seed extract, lecithin granules, fish oils, flax seed powder, creatine ethyl ester, protein powders(whey, casein, egg white), betaine alanine, ginko biloba, vincopetine, chocamine, L-tyrosine, quercetin, saw palmento, milk thistle, ground oats, green tea extract, bacopa monnieri(20% extract), rodia rhosea, synephrine hcl, yohimbine hcl, ephedrine hcl on lifting days, almond/ PB/ sunflower/macadamia butter, non-fat milk powder, calcium citrate, ALCAR, citrullane malate, di-arginine malate, taurine powder, glucoronolactone powder, green phyto foods(NOW brand), fresh juiced vegetables/fruits, lotsa water, piracetam, DLPA, alpha-gpc, recreational drugs and steriods.

That's just the top of my head. i probably left a few out. I'm a bodybuilder, health fanatic, life extensionist, and physician.

^ LOL... he said just *one*, dude :D

Mine? If I were on a desert island and could only take ONE, it would be my B-vitamin complex.

If I don't have a B-complex (or two) every day I get cracks and sores in the corners of my mouth. Our family has a hereditary deficiency. But apart from that, the B vitamin group is simply amazing and is one of the most essential supplements everyone should take. It helps stress, nerves, and helps convert carbohydrates to energy. It's also heavily depleted through drinking, and I like a glass of wine (or five) ;)

My runners-up are time-release Vitamin C capsules, and fish oil.

^^^oh, i forgot about the b-complex. be careful though, as B vitamins are lipid soluble and can cause health problems from long-term build-up in your lipid cells vs water soluble vitamins that are pissed out in excess(yellow urine).

Multi's are #1, fish oils #2, and take your B-complex every OTHER day IMPO. vit c and vit e are the next best. everything else is excess, but essential for me as a health fanatic, recreational drug user and Bodybuilder.

Azn, B-vitamins are water soluble, not fat soluble.:(

Yup. I think the only fat soluble vitamin is.... Vitamin A?

It's the only one I believe you can overdose on/cause liver damage with, well the one with the least error margin anyway.

If I skip even a day of my B-vit I really notice a difference!

yup, this is true.

my mistake with saying b-complex being fat soluble. of course it's water soluble. i made a brain fart being tired last night and lumped beta-carotene(vit A) into the b-complex family.

I still take my b-complex every other day because i take a multi everyday.
Also, note that too much B6 is dangerous:

Too much vitamin B6 can result in nerve damage to the arms and legs. This neuropathy is usually related to high intake of vitamin B6 from supplements, [28] and is reversible when supplementation is stopped. According to the Institute of Medicine, "Several reports show sensory neuropathy at doses lower than 500 mg per day" [12]. As previously mentioned, the Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine has established an upper tolerable intake level (UL) for vitamin B6 of 100 mg per day for all adults [12]. "As intake increases above the UL, the risk of adverse effects increases [12]."

Feverfew.

I've been taking one cap a day for the last month (along with magnesium), and I have had less migraines than ever before. I used to average 3-4 migraines a week. Now I get maybe two a month.

Great, You might also check out Pedadolex, a concentrate of butterbur. I have gotten the best feedback on this stuff from migrain sufferers.

The company is Enzymatic Therapy. It's not cheap but they give a full money back garentee.

Did you notice a difference in the way you feel since taking milk thistle? Is it okay to take it if you are a regular drinker? Ive been thinking about adding it into my regimine.

My favorite supplement is fish oils by far. More benefits that anything else Ive ever taken.

you do not feel a physical difference with milk thistle supplementation, but you will see a difference in your liver panel. if you drink, take meds, steriods, supplements, alcohol, drugs, etc, you need to take milk thistle, alpha lipoic acid, NAC and all the vitamins and anti-oxidants.

I take it as a preventative so no I don't notice it.

I do ingest some interesting substances from time to time and there may be some risk to my liver. So that's why I use it.

I'm generally very healthy. At least in body. Ha Ha=D

Great advice. I do that and much more. I take alot of anti-oxidants and base my supplement regime on them.:)
