What's the difference/what does it mean "Bluelight crew", "Moderator"....

And then some names have "Ex-Bluelighter" with a slash through their username...why isn't it just deleted?

I'm wondering what the difference between "bluelight crew" and "Moderator" is....can it be found in info about the website.

And where do I go to read about the specifics of how the board operates. I forget. When I first joined, I read it. Thanks in advance.

Hi SB, At the very bottom of the homepage you can go to User agreement and get the specifics on general posting rules here. From there, you can see the section "About Bluelight" that explains the different user titles. Hope this helps!

I feel like that^ pretty much explains it, but I'll leave this open for a bit just in case.

And also, Ex bluelighter is a banned account, bluelighter is us regulars, moderators help run certain sections, and bluelight crew is someone that was once a moderator but stepped down from there postition.

from the greenlighter's guide:
What Do the Different User Titles Mean?

Bluelight Users:

Guest is the standard title for unregistered posters.
Greenlighter is the standard title for registered posters who have made less than 50 posts. Greenlighters' private messages (PM) storage is restricted to only 5 messages, and they can only send one per hour.
Bluelighter is the standard title for registered posters who have made at least 50 posts. Bluelighters are given a PM box with a capacity of 100 messages.
Bluelight Crew is an honorary title which is awarded to people who have been on our staff - at any level - who have now moved on with life. Maybe they still post here, maybe they don't. That's up to them. Maybe they're not even with us any more.
Bluelight Crew are people who have made a significant contribution to the running of our site, in one way or another. They are people who realised in good time that they needed to leave us, and gave us the opportunity to find a replacement. If they didn't, they had a damn good reason.
Bluelight Crew are people who respect the BLUA and don't cause the staff any extra work. When they're here, they watch out for new people and encourage good discussion on our site. They report troublesome activity and continue to make the site the best it can be, when they can.
The title of Bluelight Crew is something that is earned, not given out automatically. On retirement from staff, the awarding of the title will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
The Bluelight Crew cares about Bluelight, and vice versa.
Bluelight Crew members are given a PM box with a capacity of 250 messages, which is a perk they retain for life as a small token of gratitude for the work they have done here.
Temp Ban is the title given to registered posters who have had their accounts disabled for a temporary amount of time
Ex-Bluelighter is the standard title for registered posters who have had their account disabled either temporarily or permanently.
Occasionally, other custom titles are given out as decided by the administrators, for example for competition winners.

Bluelight Staff:

Moderator is a customized title for staff members who are the leaders of the forum(s) that appear under their title. Moderators earned their positions by being active participants and are expected to continue to contribute to their forums. Moderators are responsible for enforcing the rules on Bluelight. They can close threads, edit posts and warn users in their assigned forums. In addition, all Pillreports.com staff members are given the title of moderator at Bluelight. Moderators are given a PM box with a capacity of 500 messages.
Senior Moderator is a customized title for staff members who moderate at least one forum and help respond to issues across all of Bluelight. They will address urgent problems, help make judgment calls when they are sufficiently familiar with the situation and provide backup for the normal forum moderators. Senior Moderators will have basic moderator functions across all the public forums. They are able to give warnings but will not be banning people. Senior Moderators will be on a level between Administrators and Moderators. Senior Moderators are given a PM box with a capacity of 1000 messages.
Administrator is a customized title for staff members who oversee the operation of Bluelight as a whole. Administrators can perform the basic moderator functions in all forums and can ban people from Bluelight. They respond to urgent situations, resolve disputes and address complaints. They are responsible for a group of forums and might moderate one or more specific forums in addition to being an administrator. They create internal policies and deal with external matters such as public relations and legal issues. They are responsible for adding or removing staff members but delegate a great deal of freedom and authority to the moderators. Administrators make the ultimate decisions for what happens at Bluelight, and they are given a PM box with a capacity of 5000 messages.

we have an incremental discipline system: Bans and the Infraction System

simply put, infractions earn you points and points earn you longer and longer temporary bans from the site. once you get to 10 points+ you're banned permanently.

infractions are issued at the discretion of forum staff and are usually issued when a forum guideline is broken.
