What type of feminist are you?

This Ashes series has made me get well intol women's cricket.

Solidly "liberal feminist", 100%, well above any of the other categories.

You do realise the ashes is played between Australia and England don't you?

Speaking of cricket, surely we can all agree the 20/20 is girlfriend cricket

^Well, I watched 4 of the test matches in their entirety, yeah, I think I have a handle on what the Ashes is. Our lasses did us proud, smashed the shackledraggers. Much better than our lads.

Yeah, my ex would sit down for a bit of IPL with me, but not a Test. I don't even really like the ODI that much.

I've tried to sell the merits of test match cricket as a day to sun bake and read a book for 8hrs but no dice :(

Keep it to 3 hrs and she is mildly interested.

We were the first country in the world to give our women folk the right to vote.

No, actually, NZ beat us to the punch in 1893, South Australia it was granted in 1895 but the federal vote not until 1902 - but even then, Sweden and Finland have female voting that dates back to the 18th century in some instances.

^Hehehehehe, OTW is a Kiwi. Is there some parallel between assuming capable people are men and assuming that progressive countries are the United States? I dunno. All I can say is that I very much enjoyed the irony of a thread abotu feminism being instantly subjugated and co-opted by two white men talking about sport.

I'd be surprised if the women folk even come into C E&P for starters. There's too much action in second knitting opinion. That place is like the pin interest of BL

I guess discussion over the gendered micro-politics of spectator sports is sort of on topic? But yes, the irony is palpable. :P

ebola

I've only read a small amount about feminism having most recently read Valerie Solanas' SCUM manifesto. As violent as she was, I could still relate to some of her points and even agree with a few... Maybe that's why I scored high inthe radical feminist category. I could also empathize to the protagonist in Maxine Hong Kingston's Woman Warrior which could explain the high Amazon feminism rating. Other than that, I have no idea what the categories on the quiz mean.

Libertarian / Individualist feminism: (100 )
Liberal feminism (88 )
Amazon feminism-- Dedicated to the image of the female hero in Greek mythology and in fact, as it is expressed in art and literature, in the physiques and feats of female athletes, and in sexual values and practices. (63 )
Radical feminism: Radical feminist analysis identifies patriarchal sexual politics as a fundamental organizing principle pervasive in all aspects of modern and historical societies. Radical feminist activism works to organize a mass movement uniting women to abolish sex-class on political, economic, and cultural levels. (50 )
Anarcha-feminism: Anarcha-feminism recognizes the patriarchal domination of women as a key part of a society thoroughly founded on hierarchy and coercion, and seeks to organize women with other oppressed groups - in particular, workers and people of color - as part of a systematic fight against all forms of hierarchy, domination, and government. (38 )
Womanism-- ''Black feminism is sometimes referred to as womanism because both are concerned with struggles against sexism and racism by black women who are themselves part of the black community's efforts to achieve equity and liberty'' -Barbara Omolade (25 )
Antifeminism - actively opposing feminism; views male supremacy as natural and/or necessary. (13 )
Eco-feminism-- Theory that rests on the basic principal that patriarchial philosophies are harmful to women, children, and other living things. (0 )
Socialist Feminism (0 )

It's pretty funny, because cricket, and soccer, and almost every other major sport, is played all over the world. OTW is a Kiwi, I'm British, we are as far away from one another as two people on Earth can be, but we still can connect over a shared passion. It's just Americans that have their stupid sports that only they play, and exclude everyone else from, then chastise every other nation in the world for playing "whatever they play over there" (i.e. the entire rest of the planet). Just another symptom of their insular, introverted, exceptionalist worldview. Denigrating cricket because it's not as American as baseball. Like a chauvinist pig. Huh. (btw, ebola?, you're excluded from this rant. I consider you an honorary unamerican).

^I've lived in his country, I'm well aware.

I was practicing humoUr, you see?

If you are being serious, you need to read more of my posts that typically reject ethnocentric beliefs.

You unspeakable bigot.

Liberal feminism - 100%
Antifeminism - 82%
Libertarian / Individualist feminism - 71%
Womanism - 63%
Socialist Feminism - 46%
Amazon feminism - 33%
Eco-feminism - 33%
Anarcha-feminism - 22%
Radical feminism - 0%

So it appears that even antifeminism is a kind of feminism.
The result is funny because I consider myself a socialist, I just don't see that much relation between capitalism/socialism and position of women in society. But as far as strands of feminism go, I would indeed choose liberal one if I really had to.
