So I suffer for a plethera of illnesses:
chronic pain
fibromyalgia
sjgorens
hypothyrodism
chronic headaches and often migraines
arthritist in cervical 3 and 4
bone spurs on lumbar 4 and 5
plantar faciatis
insomnia
anxiety/panic attacks
depression
I was in an all enclusive program they called Intergratd Pain Management. You get Assisgned a medical doctor, a pyschologist, and a physical thereapist. Been going through the program for almost 10 months. I was released by the physical therapist and psychologist months ago but kept seeing my pain doctor (abd before you jump to conclusions, I do not get any narcotics). Well today she informed me that she will need to release me from the program and that I would have to go back to a regular doctor. These are the regular doctors that didn't believe I was sick then turn around and those same doctors get me hooked on pain killers for 8 years. Been clean for over 4 years and don't want to go back into that environent.
I work for the company that I received my medical treatment. I specifically had my chart marked SEVERE ALLERGIC REACTION TO OPIODES- do not prescribe. Any time I see a doctor they are like oh you have fibro, migraines, headaches, bones spurs heres some vicodin or morphine, I always tell them no because I knew I would see my pain doctor and she would find something that would work rather than throwing opiates at me.
I just needed to get that out.....I scared of what might lay ahead, I am scared that maybe I am over reacting. But, I think I will just miss the fact that I actually had a doctor that really cared for me, rare to find in the gigantic mass HMO's out there.
