It's not that common but not super uncommon either that I will see girls walking around wearing shirts that are intentionally short so as to expose their stomach. Most girls will only expose a small sliver of skin around their waste but maybe 1 or 2 in 10 will expose a large portion of her belly, clearly showing off her belly button which is often but not always peirced.

I am curious what you folks think of this, girls and guys. Do you find it sexy? Do you think it is too slutty? Do you think its looks dumb? Girls do you or would you wear a shirt like this?

Personally, I find it hot but also pretty slutty and I honestly wouldnt really my wamnt my girlfriend to wear something like that. I feel like it would garner too much male attention. Last night I saw an exremely attractive blonde girl wearing a very small top that showed off her pierced belly button. I couldn't help but notice her and how much she stood out from the other, more conservatively dressed girls that were around.

Lol it's not a big deal to me becausee I work at the mall and go to college and see sluttier shit.... a girl came to class wearing a knit type thing (has holes) that you wear over another thing.... but she didn't. She had that and just a bra lmao. Well whatever is all I can say but I don't get why their parents become shocked when their kid gets raped.

prolly cause wearing any type of clothing no matter how promiscuous is a terrible excuse to rape someone. And I am not even the sort of person who thinks the girl never bares any responsibility. As terrible a thing to do someone as rape is, I think that girls who hang out with unsavory, immoral guys (and I believe in most cases, there are signs of this before the rape happens, unless its a rape from a stranger which makes up only a small portion of rapes) and often drink themselves into states where their judement is extremely impaired and then go home with a guy they dont know very well, welll they are almost asking to get raped. Or rather, they are puttinjg themselves in a very risky situation sort of like crossing the street without looking both ways. So I can critizing the girl than and actually a lot of rapes do happen when the girl has drunk her self senseless. But simply wearing slutty clothing, is not enough of a reason to place any blame on the chick for being raped imo. Being hit on yes, (i hate it when girls are showing major cleavage/legs/belly button, etc and then get offended when guys pay attention to them). If you wear an outfit that is screaming for attention, and then you get attention, at least be polite if youre not interested.

I know rape can happen in any situation but wearing shit like that doesn't help.... but I know. All I'm saying is too many parents don't give a shit nowadays and girls want attention. Attention that may be good but dressing like that also attracts a lot of attention that isn't wanted..... I'm 19 and a female.... girls my age don't think most of the time. They then get themselves into bad situations. Girls don't have to dress like sluts to look hot but clearly too many don't realize that.... in the end if you're going out to an event wear whatever but not everyday... it looks bad and guys get these bad thoughts in their head by just looking at them. Watchout though that girl may be underage.... its hard to tell legal from non-legal nowadays.

But again clothing isn't the only reason rape happens....I know that.

yeah it certainly doesnt help but its not the determining facto0r in rape either, i mean a chick who is wearing a tight shirt that exposing her belly button but sticks close by her frriends the whole night and is careful with who she intereacts with , is a lot less likely to be raped than a chick who dresses modeslty but involves herself with the wrong people.

^I know.... it was just a bad joke. In the end dressing slutty makes you look like a hoe and guys just wanna fuck a hoe. Then it's done. The girl may not be a slut though but people judge before getting to know someone. So if they aren't bothered by that then all the power to them.... I don't care... a person can dress, say and do what they want unless it's not negatively effecting me.

It's whatever. Just don't be 300 pounds and do it :D

I don't care if a woman chooses to dress like that, she has every right to. I don't think clothes have anything to do with rape. Rape isn't the victims fault, obviously it's the perpetrator who decided to fuck someone against their own will.

I dint judge people as slutty based on clothing, in fact, I don't judge people as slutty period. I think someone deserves human dignity irrespective of how they dress or how often they choose to have consentual sex.

Rape (and other crimes against the person) ALWAYS fall on the perpetrator alone. It makes me sick that anyone assigns guilt to the subject of an assault.

Read earlier replies and no I don't. I wasn't being serious so calm your shit. But it does attract unwanted attention is all I'm saying but nowadays more girls thrive on it; any attention they receive.

Meh, I don't think much of it. If the girl likes her stomach enough to expose it, then good for her. I don't think it's particularly shocking or slutty frankly. If I were more comfortable with my body I'd probably do it myself.

Just, please be careful with that kind of stuff...you don't know how horrible it can be to hear that. It's really not all that funny.

I like high waist jeans with shorter shirts that show a bit of your belly. Too much belly is usually tacky though. Also victim blaming and joking about rape? xstayfadedx, not funny...

I know but Im saying parents need to care more.... but I do know I was sexually abused as a kid.... I did not mean it in that way.... I was also on clonazepam ect... not thinking how bad that sounded but I really apologize for saying that.

If you've got it flaunt it. Unfortunately judging from the amount of muffin top I witness during the great low rise denim horror of the late 2000's I don't hold high hopes for some people :(

I am for clothing that flatters a person's shape.

I'm in agreement with Tude. There isn't much that can be done for the obese or those with an unrealistic body image.

The question of whether or not dressing provacatively invites unwanted attention or rape is probably a topic better suited to its own thread. :)
