Due to post-drug use depression, I can barely muster upp the desire to eat. Which makes me even more depressed and I have fainting spells. What can I eat that is Quick, Cheap, Easy, and most of all, chock full of vitamins and minerals.

This also regards times of excessive drug use, where food is not a priority, but you need a very quick cheap snack to make sure you dont keel over.

sandwich? Chuck some lettuce, tomato, deli meat and some sauces and you got a pretty quick and healthy snack.

Rice.. get a rice cooker and just always have a pot full of rice ready to eat.. bit of sweet chilli sauce and tuna is allll good. But i dunno man, i mean i just eat a can of baked beans if im hungry and cant be fucked cooking - its cheap, filling, good for you, and you can(i do) eat it strait out of the can.. i mean shit, i lived on baked beans for 2 months before! haha

I 100% feel where you're coming from, and - not in any boastful manner - I believe I've perfected this situation.

When I cannot eat for whatever reason, be it between MDMA/sleeping, in withdrawals, in depression, etc, it always seemed to cause the same appetite-erasing effect. Here's what I did / what to keep in mind. This does not need to be copied, as it applies to many combinations. There is no "healthiest"/"best".

Simply put, fluids + weightgainer + multivitamin. Remember, water is as - more, even - important than food. Make sure you're hydrated, dehydration kicks in faster than hunger / can be more of a problem here, and hydration is ESSENTIAL to the next step (food/calories/nutrients). Without hydration, any food/nutrient will be a problem.
Once water/fluid is controlled for, calorie/nutrient density, as far as you can stomach it, is key. Remember to look for not only heavy vitamins/minerals*, but for the 3 macronutrients (fats, proteins, and carbohydrates). Remember that carbs will boost blood sugar, which can be useful, but that carbs are NOT needed. The body can make carbs from proteins/fats via carbonucleogenesis (sp?), but it cannot make proteins(amino-acids) or fatty-acids, they must be ingested.
(*if I were referring to a post-mdma/before bed meal, I'd say go crazy with vitamins/minerals, however, if we're talking about someone who's, say, in methadone withdrawals (long!), then I'd advise caution with fat-soluble stuff. For instance, vitamin C and the B's are water-soluble, the excess is urinated out. Vitamin E, Iron, etc are not - this can cause an issue if taken long-term in excess.)
Once you have fluids, macronutrients(fat/protein and, typically, carbs), and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) covered, fiber ends up being a good consideration. Fiber is either soluble or non-soluble, both help but soluble fibers are good because they give bulk to an otherwise empty stomach.

For example, personally, I would make a weightgainer shake. The density would depend solely on my fluid levels, I'd make it more watered-down the more water I needed. I would consume it with a proper amount of a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement. I'd consume fiber, typically psyllium husk, either as a powder mixed into my shake, or as capsules swallowed with my shake. The weightgainer I used would be modified to a proper meal - for example, if it were a carb-heavy weightgainer (as most are), I'd use milk to mix it (for protein), and add olive oil (for fat). I'd always consume fish-oil capsules along with the vitamins/minerals, and fiber.

Given where I worked, I had an extensive selection of protein/weight gain powders on hand, but that's not needed. You could simply use milk + cream(or olive oil), that'd give you solid fluid+fat/carbs/protein, and adding a strong multi-vitamin/mineral is important. Adding the fish oil is a huge plus, and the fiber is more of a comfort thing than a nutritional thing.

I should clarify that this is suitable to keep your body running (quite) solid in these times. It covers what the body needs to intake to function properly w/o malnourishment, and should be very comprehensive. Over a long period, over life, of course this is unhealthy - you need to eat a variety of foods for all kinds of things that make a difference long-term (antioxidants/enzymes/etc etc). But for after rolling, or a few weeks of withdrawal, this will stock your body with what it needs, despite being fast/easy to get down. The more real foods you can get down, the better, but this formula works* very well in short-term situations where nutritional issues like this arise ;-P
(*provided that the multi vitamin/mineral is sufficient - for one-time, post-MDMA use it's a simple situation, go with strength here. For trying to stay healthy during a month of withdrawals, vitamins - if you're relying on supplements "a multivitamin/mineral" - become more of a concern to balance. Feel free to ask more on that or about vitamins/minerals relative to specific drug hangovers/withdrawals. I'm not too knowledgable on all of them, but others here are (and there's plenty of references here on the boards as to what to use after <insert drug here> or during <drug's> withdrawals). Cheers ;)

Oh, and if you're getting faint* in these situations, gatorade can be quite useful, it gets you hydrated, boosts your blood sugar, and replenishes electrolytes very quickly.
(*If you're getting faint, of course, recognize it can be different causes - I'm referring to faintness from dehydration/hunger only!)

the quickest and healthiest would probably be a shake:

-6 oz water
-a banana
-other fruit (chopped mango, watermelon, a peeled/cored apple, an orange, frozen berries)
-handful of spinach
-greek yogurt (optional, sort of expensive)
-a natural source of protein (hemp-seed, etc...)

Or, for something more substantial:

couscous w/ broccoli, garbanzo beans, feta cheese, splash of lemon juice, pinch of salt, and red-pepper flakes.

Both of these meals take maybe 5 to 10 minutes to make and are nutritious and cheap.

haha so true about the baked beans. when i was homeless i would shoplift food and baked beans were always my go to. They are tasty plus have protein iron and a bunch of calories so they are filling as well.

Of course, bananas are great. Tasty (but you must get them just right, otherwise they are vile), cheap and easy, they even come with their own carrying case.
As for baked beans, YES! They are indeed cheap, and pretty tasty, at least those first two tins of the day, after that... you feel kind of bad, and empty inside.
BUT... I was never quite sure, I mean, ARE baked beans healthy? They do fill you, but they MUST contain far too much salt and fat? The beans themselves I would imagine are pure vitamins, minerals, etc, but that rich thick sauce... Must be pure heart poison, no?

eggs are a great source of protein and they are light so they are easy to eat. eggs and whole grain toast are great for nourishment when your diet is suffering from drug abuse. if you dont like eggs, have some Progresso hearty soup.

Cannot stand eggs unfortunately. Boiled eggs I fear like mexican jumping spiders. Fried ones I can tolerate, but no more than once a month.

Never hears of Progresso.

One of the criterias is that it shouldnt require any cooking or preperation. Boiling an egg, making a sanwich, cooking up soup all lead to disaster, as while the stuff is on the cooker, I'll go away to top myself off, waking up to the kitchen smelling burned.... hehe

I pretty much dont cook right now either cuz I dont have the patience or desire to deal with it.

I eat lots of clif bars, bananas, yogurt, cereal, carrots with hummus, turkey sandwiches, and pb&j. things you dont have to do dishes for (assuming u have a dishwasher), and you don't have to prepare anything. or just go to chipotle or something and get a huge bowl of rice and beans for $6 and eat that for 2-3 meals.

Mhm, YES, yoghurt and carrots are good. Sandwiches are no good, as mentioned, making them is too much work, and prepared are too expensive.
But some yoghurt works nice, as it simply slides down the throat, and since I do not drink milk, cannot stand the taste, yoghurt is a good alternative, as is chocolate milk. Thanks for reminding me.

But, also, what about vitamins? I found I can survive long on only water and vitamins; not sufficient in the long run, but ARE there any vitamin-packs and similar, that it is possible to 'live' on in the longer run?

Still waiting for the 'food pill'. You know, a cheap little pill that gives the nutrition of a meal. The biggest problem with eating on drug binges is that you cannot imagine having to have to taste anything...or the amount of work in eating a kebab *lol*

the answer is entirely relative to what youve eaten that day, prior few days, and what physical activities youve recently had and are having, and also your overall current state of health

dont ever look for the easy button in life. thats the answer to your question.

I'd say a nice veggie/fruit smoothie. I like ones with kale, spinach, blueberries, strawberries, and a little milk. You can also add protein powder.

I cook healthy meals with 4-6 servings although there are two of us.
This way there are at least 3 things in the fridge to eat.
I have yet to figure out how to eat healthy CHEAPLY.

I eat fruit for breakfast, usully juices veg/salad after. i recommend a juicer.

Too eat healthy cheap, cut out meat, dairy. Sprout whole hemp seeds. basically 'Raw vegan' for a label. yeah and get a juicer.

Also look into optimal food combining. Fruit for energy/detox, greens for long lasting energy/healing.

Going to extremes, i believe in urine therapy. maybe this deserves a thread of its own another time.

wow, so you cant even manage to make a sandwich? i dont really get it but whatever.

if you cant to ANY cooking at all that limits a lot of simple meal ideas. fruits and vegis (with hummus or salad dressing dip) and "energy" bars are kinda the only things out there, aside from take out food that can be healthy.

if you are willing to cook for like 5 minutes there are plenty of options though...
