I agree that younger people do not use forums as much. The younger BLers gravitate toward the discord. It's pretty young over there.

That makes sense. I inherently distrust discord (Not because young ppl use it) because of what I hear goes on there and the possible false sense of security. (Idk how discord works -- or really care either)

Id venture the BL population leans heavy male in all age groups.

The Discord does lean somewhat male but has a much larger female population and far more queer, trans, etc. users. It also has a lot more BIPOC users. And it leans very neurodivergent, but I suspect that the forums do as well.

My only problem with the Discord is that format of answers,, threads is hard to follow, hard to engage in. Well, hard for me. I could never write a long wordy post like this in Discord, the whole flow would have done passed me by. I imagine that is a function of age of user, that younger users are more use to that sort of format.
Anyhow, that gets at a second more inadvertent problem for me with Discord, which is that the demographic is younger than me. I knew that as soon as I saw they had a separate olders thread that was defined as 40+ and everybody in it seemed to feel defensive about being ( gasp!) 40.
It didn't make me feel at all like I was welcome and fitting in, but that's ok. We all have our tribal affiliations in this world, and I don't need to spend even more time on my phone on yet another site!
✌️
PS I just looked and I see the post-40 topic had disappeared

Take a guess been around a while '99 joined it so bit after the site was born. Saw hip Hop blossom when young and House music. Must be pretty old this is it readable you tell me.
Been here so long youll probably strating to notice some old age things.

Bit of brain deteriation or exxegeration my part: 2000 and one/ 2001
not 1999 :ROFLMAO: thats probably my birth date Someone mentioned surviving the summer of '76 so that made me feel young was 3 att. Zero recollection. so i ll do the math 53

for the sake of humaninty confronting. But looking at my Granny i am halfway. She near 100 and going strong. If she comes through this muddy heat. But she survived WW2 so this is peanuts. But she is sharp as ever clever. But about deaf. Probably because she was in bombings. Incredible some of those older human models that just keep going.
