I mostly enjoy ranked standard and drafting, but I've been intending to make another historic deck I've got plenty of wild cards. My old historic deck is simic flash but got rather board of it. I made it to mythic once a couple years ago, before they banned Oko and Fires of Invention

i enjoy historic brawl more these days, as i can play 2 of actual EDH decks i have (in much weaker form, but still..)

but generally just prefer IRL over arena. no true EDH and no modern is such a bummer
also arena has become such a shitshow since they introduced all these arena-exclusive cards with absolutely busted effects into historic

i only play historic brawl on arena though

EDH is the best format. I'm not a fan of the whole 4 copies of the same card, every deck plays the same every time. Just love the variation EDH offers

I don't know, my mtg cards have been financing themselves for ages.
I buy displays, sell expensive cards when they're at their peak and buy more displays.
it's kind of been financing itself. i mean you gotta know your shit, you can't just buy any filler set,
you buy the stacked sets. The first commander legends is my favourite example, because it pays out like 4-5 times the amount you put in, if you're just a bit lucky, and you get your money back if you're not, give or take

actual cards are like investing in stocks. if you play it right, you can actually make money from it,
and quite substantial money if i may say so.. i just always reinvest into mtg cards

No, I have the money to spend on gambling and dopamine which drafting provides. The cards I retain are a consolation prize.

I like drafting because it's like chess + gambling.

Yeah, few years ago I was addicted to taking benzos + stealing MTG cards from various department stores. I stole $10,000 worth of product at least. Sold the rares for buylist value at $2200. I had about 200lbs of commons I threw in the trash.

My interesting life story.............. (I do not condone stealing, unless from large corporations).

I was eventually caught by security, but I'm so charming they let me go and didn't call the cops for some reason. Dumbasses. White privilege.

My issue with arena is that I get nothing back, just cards I already have in real life

I am USCF/FIDE 1850 but have not played IRL rated in many years, my online blitz is less as I haven't played sober in many years

could be up my area of where the games are actually fun
i hadn't really played in almost a decade and just started playing seriously again with one of my patients, just a few months ago until her condition worsened. she was crazy good at it, masterful player, very intelligent in general

i'll try to think of it tomoz, for now it's bed time
i'd definitely love to keep at it and have someone to train with, but I might not be good enough
we'll see

I joined reddit to see taylor/line production ( chairs assembly/desks/car parts) anyway and i also like games, recently re-played Dead Space 2/3 and for life of me, I will not understand what ppl didn't enjoy about DS3. It felt extremely non-linear, like yeah isn't Mass Effect to do 50 optional missions if u want but still, the icy environment the feel of loneliness and death felt a lot more intense in the last game and "more action" what action? literally if 30m all together with human shooting.. i guess those flashlight monsters weren't enough! try and play it without hacks to actually use the scavange bot to build to see if u can last those lvls..

i wanted to play alien isolation but while the AI adapts to your style, your hide intervals your way of talking the piano notes -- I feel the whatever console u have to decipher those minecraft like entities seems to somehow have a toxic relationship with some players, and that's me, one of. Other than that seems interesting for a night with your gf

Yesssss Mass Effect is great!!! So is Witcher 3, I really need to get a digital copy of that to play. I've been playing a bunch of Mass Effect and Fable.
