I would like to know more about what a calcium-blocker is and does that sounds a little crazyWell, its a voltage gate calcium channel blocker (specifically at the alpha 2 delta subtype in the CNS,) so basically your brain is becoming more active then less active repeatedly which I would imagine results in greater levels of oxidative stress (aging) due to it struggling to maintain homeostasis plus there would be a greater number of neupsychiatric related cognitive issues as well especially if it is prescribed for such already.
They can be used to treat cardiovascular conditions like arrhythmia or hypertension in the more traditional sense, but this one specifically works to block that receptor subtype in the CNS resulting in downstream effects on GABA and Glutamate. It reduces neuronal firing by reducing glutamatergic action (excitatory) in the brain and increasing gabaeric activity (inhibitory,) so it works to calm brain activity which in your case seems to calm the heart even though that is not necessarily the primary function of the drug.I would like to know more about what a calcium-blocker is and does that sounds a little crazy
You are hitting your brain with calcium blockers and stimulating the GABA system. Increased awareness, more fluid vision, increased appetite, etc. What exactly happens to my brain when I go on and off gabapentin 1600mg a day?
