Some rambling thoughts I wrote down while on my darling Lucy....

Maybe peripheral vision is blurry because we are perceiving, if only slightly, the possible potentials of reality.

Thus our world of 3 dimensions is born. The reason we see 3 dimensions is because of how much we see waves of potentials around us.

The far mountain on the horizon, words on a sign we can't make out and the things we see out of the corner of our eye, is information concerning reality not perceived by our mind's unsophisticated tools (eyes). The wave of potentials takes a vague shape around the observer and thus becomes blurs. It is the blurs and definite reality that cause the 3 dimensional view, the foreground and the horizon. The potential waves, create reality based on how our organs perceive it which makes it a sort of gauging of distance of blurs, our three dimensions. Extra terrestrials aren't likely to develop the same sensory organs as humans because of the diversity of evolution and are therefore more likely to perceive slightly or even entirely different dimensions of reality. Therefore I am forced to believe any extra terrestrial I am likely to encounter would be extra dimensional, or at least slightly.

side note- does that mean that our developed tools to perceive reality perceive what is potentially there to the fullest? Obviously not... And do dimensions necessarily perceived by non humans have to fit in with ours, or even have anything in common with ours? No.. Does that mean that we could potentially live unimaginably close to them, both species unaware of the other? Or is one aware of the other? Or are they both subtly aware of each other? The implications of these questions to humanity may be very important. Although, maybe they are already answered by people trying to keep us in the dark.

I think truly sophisticated beings would use machines to perceive reality for them. To see upon dimensions, levels of existence with tools crafted with the technology of their sentience, not evolution would be truly a beautiful achievement for sentience..

Existence... This bubble that we are thrusted into with no understanding of what it really is. The only thing we truly know is that we are. We exist. But what is existence? Why, how is it here?

I'm sorry if the theory of intelligent design of the universe by a mind that thinks like a human's sounds a little far fetched to me.

There are basically three ways that anything can be.

1st way- think of this as the ultimate nothing. Nonexistence. No space or time or earth or people. It's not even a black empty void, as there would be no black, and no void to be empty. Nothing.

2nd way- There is one existing timeline, flowing of events that the conscious mind helps shape with it's actions. Think of it in biblical terms, where there was one story, and that is the Bible. This is the only thing that happened, and this is the only timeline that anything will happen.

3rd way- everything that could ever possibly happen, ever has happened and ever will happen, happens. This infinite state of everything, is the exact opposite of the 1st possibility that is nothing. This infinite existence is God. It is the unending sea of potentials. Everything that could possibly exist would exist in timelines and universes outside of our own. The laws of physics of these universes could be different than our own.

Personally I think it is reasonable to conclude that existence exists in the 3rd way.
The first way is obviously not true, as I am here, writing this.
The second one doesn't sound very likely, as in order to exist in a sea of potentials, those potentials have to exist, and are therefore there. Scientists have already proven with the 'double-slit experiment' that sub-atomic particles exist as a wave of potentials until the conscious mind observes them. This wave of potentials is the possible realities that could be perceived by your conscious mind. Your conscious mind creates your reality around you.

Your conscious mind can move you through three dimensions in space. You can move up, down, forward, backward, and left and right. There is no reason the honed conscious mind couldn't move in two dimensions of time very slightly to shift odds, or bring themselves to a parallel universe where the lesser odds succeeded.

Time. What is time? It's not just some metaphor man uses to describe the passing of the sun in the sky. It's real. My evidence- if a man were to attain the speeds in a vehicle to travel to a galaxy far away from earth enough to contain life in it and come back, if he had aged 50 years, the Earth could have aged hundreds of years. The speed at which one travels through space, a 3 dimensional plane (as far as we know) actually alters your travel through time (time travel?).

Thought- let's say for instance, space is infinite. Boundaries truly do not exist. Time is directly related to space. Therefore time would be infinite.

As humans, we move through time in half of a dimension. I say this because one full dimension would being able to move forward and backward. We only move forward. So, when we move forward in time in one dimension, 'fate', or whatever by chance is to happen to us, happens to us.

To move in two dimensions is to push the time line we are traveling a little to the left or to the right. If we could do this, as the seconds ticked by and time moved forward, we could potentially nudge, if not a little bit, the normal flow of events to the left or the right, therefore changing the outcome of a situation.

Infinity has a symbol. It is a sideways 8. It is a sideways 8 because if you take a one dimensional strip of paper, you can fold it over on itself into a 3 dimensional 8. If you draw a line on this 8 from start to finish without lifting your finger off of the paper, you will have drawn a line on both sides of the paper. You could draw the line forever.

This is time in it's 3rd dimension. All that ever has been, all that ever will be.

If you could imagine traveling this infinite strip of time on one of the surfaces of it, you would be traveling through it in the 3rd dimension. You could master time. You could travel backward and forward in time. You could bring yourself to slightly different circumstances than you would have normally experienced you could jump to circumstances that exist in completely different time lines, or parallel universes.

Could time be traveled in even larger dimensions? It's incredibly possible.

And does this mean time is a loop? Maybe it is a loop, a never-ending, infinite spin... Everything, anything possible, existing for eternity..

You have to admit: "What do you think?" as a topic label is not the most inspiring distinction as to what the article possesses by way of content either. Since every topic in its very nature has the implication of that question, how are we to properly categorize its meaningful retrieval?

That's no refutation of the content.

oh mate, the bane of my online existence. subject lines like this used to make me go all frank grimes.

"the whole plant is insane i tell you!"

"unsophisticated tools (eyes)."

Eyes are very sophisticated (in a biological sense).

What would be more sophisticated? They're perfect for the environment we are in...

Well, "sophistication", if one wants to argue by etymology, is the condition of 'pertaining to wisdom'. One could argue that the immediate givenness of ocular perception is non-rational.

yeah we could've used a touch of echolocation in the mix. where do i send my customer satisfaction survey to get this back to the big cheese?

I think your asking something's that's been contemplated for decades...

I'll admit I only read like 1/3 of your post but from what I read you seem to be touching on the whole "if a tree falls and no ones around to hear it does it make a sound" question. If no one sees that tree fall, how do we really know it was ever standing? The world we live in tells us thats how things are supposed to be.

Who's to say that our reality is THE reality? If every single person is looking away from the moon, how do we know it's there if no ones looking at it to say yes or no?

Kinda reminds me of the whole matrix theme where were all somehow programmed to live in a predetermined reality
