What are your sobre vision disturbances you've noticed since taking psyches?

you're momma
I'm not necessarily talking about full blown HPPD cos I sure as hell don't have it, or at least not really bad. I'm talking more things you've taken to noticing since taking acid or something similar where you've thought, "wow, that reminds me of trippin", and whether or not you can remember observing anything like this in your vision before ever taking hallucinogens. I brought this up cos when I was outside before, and this is always reconstructible for me btw, I let my eyes unfocus while I was taking a piss and it kind of looked like the grass was rippling and moving in waves. Now this was a big thing for me when I tripped on LSD, the ground breathing and shit, and another thing I've noticed whilst sobre is funny shadow-like disturbances when I'm looking at computer screens in between the middle of my vision and my peripherals. And another thing, I've found a much greater appreciation for floor surfaces with interesting patterns on them, like the concrete floor at my work. Keep in mind I've had acid about 3 times in my life and not in particularly high doses, so it's not like I took it every other weekend for the past 3 years and ended up developing HPPD over a period of time. I thought it'd be interesting to find out funky shit that other psychonauts have started seeing or noticing permanantly, whilst under the influence of mind boggling chemicals and plants, so SPILL.

I'm not sure if this is what you're asking for, but when I'm stopped at a red light in the morning, the cars going by perpendicular to me all have enormous tracers. This is only when I'm sort of gazing out-of-focus. Your eyes and your brain can play a lot of crazy tricks on you when you decide to zone-out. Bathroom tiles are another thing that comes to mind. A lot of people attribute things like this to psychedelic use, but maybe they just never noticed them before the usage.

As a child I picked up a book of optical illusions and could flip through it without worrying about brain damage, etc - in fact it was quite fascinating figuring out how the illusions worked. It seems like a lot of "HPPD" and other concern over visual disturbances is people becoming very concrned over the normalities of the human visual system.

Lots of people who haven't done psychedelics can notice all sorts of strange behaviour in the human visual system. It's just taken for granted that nobody starts complaining about floaters in their eyes.

The ceiling in my room is one of those ones with the random bumps all over it. When I look at it for long enough I feel like it starts to warp and make patterns. I wouldn't say the drugs I've done are responsible for it, but they've definitely helped my imagination.

No permanent visual disturbances.

I do, however, have a permanently increased ability to detect patterns and images in visual noise, such as wood grain. I can see constellations in stars more easily, etc.

Far from a "disturbance", I'd say.

Yeah, the rippling grass through unfocused eyes thing, staring at floor/wall patterns long enough until they begin to move, seeing things that move fast enough have tracers, even watching your face melt in the mirror by fixating on it, they're all amazingly possible before ever doing any drugs. I never payed much attention to any of that stuff though so now my mind kind of instantly associates it with psychedelics when I see it. None of that stuff qualifies as HPPD though, real HPPD is like seeing peak visuals constantly with lots of brain fog and anxiety that totally ruins your life for at least a good amount of time, and only an absurdly small number of people have actually ever gotten it.

Yeah for sure, but I think mine might be closer to HPPD symptoms. Im not one of those people who rave and rave over perma tripping and how much of a crazy druggo I am but Im nearly certain these arent just things I can notice after taking Psychs.

The biggest one is the rainbow fuzz or static. I simply cannot escape it, there is just super imposed rainbow colour specks everywhere. The sky and darkness shows it off the most. Even in a blackened room when I close my eyes I always have quite significant colour and CEVS. Mild compared to tripping but still.

Things warp and creep and I notice tracers alot more. But I think these two could very well be the brain unlocking the ability to notice it and thus creating it.

I dunno but alot of mind tricks happen to me and I do put it down to psych use. I was on a rather heavy usage this year, once dosing twice a week for a good few weeks, otherwise weekly up until lately where my guys gone dry. Its not worrying but its taught me drugs can have a rather lasting effect to the brain thats for sure.
