Boiled eggs for breakfast, homemade lentil soup and fried mushrooms for lunch.....healthy healthy!

Kale - I have an abundance of this homegrown bad-boy. Freshly picked it has a bounce of nutrient packed energy. What else can I do with it apart from bubble n' squeeze n' stir-fries?

Got salmon. Got kale. Got a larder +. What else?

Just turned down cake at work - proud of the level of will power.

The wine however....

The cake must have been substandard for you to reject it. Poor cake, however i appreciate your understanding of the wine list.

I'm eyeing up tins of green lentils and onion powder - oh damn.

Hula Hoops (2 packs), biscuits, 2 haggis sausage rolls, maccy dee's chicken nuggets, half a donner kebab, frankly rotten spare, bland and fatty spare ribs coated in grease, curry & rice with chips is what I've had today. Ugh. I feel fucking horrible.

Been makin this soup with it. Nice enough and easy to make. Not as lucky as you to have it fresh from garden but here it is:

INGREDIENTS
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 small leek, sliced
1 small carrot, sliced
1 small parsnip root, quartered and sliced
1 potato, quartered and sliced
1 bay leaf
1 tablespoon wheat flour
4 1/3 cups vegetable stock
2 cups curly kale, chopped
salt and black pepper to taste

PREPARATION
1. Gently heat the oil in the saucepan. Add the turmeric and the leek, followed by the carrot, parsley root, potato, and bay leaf.

2. Stir-fry for 2 minutes over a medium heat. Sprinkle the flour into the pan and stir until the vegetables are coated in flour. Continue to stir while you add the stock and bring to a boil.

3. Simmer for 10 minutes. Add the curly kale and boil for a further 5 minutes. Season and serve with croutons.

I don't bother with croutons and like to add the Kale for longer to soften more

Poached eggs on toast... I love them, I love them, I have an almost erotic fixation with them. I have to eat them on my own as the moment that the yolk bursts is such a beautiful thing to me that I don't want anyone talking and distracting me from it. Just tried the Delia method which is get the pan to the lowest suggestion of a boil (tiny bubbles on base of pan) then stick eggs in, leave for one minute then take off heat and stand for ten minutes. It's alright but it's not as good as she seems to think it is. The pan of water is now helping me to evaporate excess alcohol from a vial of hash oil someone gave me.

Sounds divine!

...

Thank you for the recipe whitedove - why did I not think of soup.

I have some plain old vegetable on the go now - I'll be adding shredded kale towards the end of cooking. Yum :)

Not eaten today, my tummy hurts. Don't know if this is too do with too much booze generally or the lovely meal out we had last night. My OH's fine and we had much the same...hmm booze induced indigestion possibly :|

not eaten myself today except for humble pie in the football world.

going to order in a kebab with garlic n cheese chips with a btl of coke.back to healty eating monday.

Sposed to be on a healthy eating kick too, had little appetite today so skipped breakfast, had a baked tattie and chili for lunch then came home to find it was pizza for tea. Oh well healthy eating kick never really took off.

Had some sushi earlier as I seemed to have developed the shakes! Helped out with my banging hang over a bit too.

tonight's dinner is the best kind - ie: mostly liquid =D

mainly due to Sainsburys discontinued £1, 7% Profanity Stout & tesco's 4 for £5 on selected beers ... in this case Old Tom (8.5% ) & Old Dan (7.4% ). yum.

Another healthy eating fail, chicken thighs in batter and chips for tea.

Whats with the scottish battering everything its like, mars bar cake is enough but IN BATTER, folded pizza IN BATTER!

Anyway ive just had a omelette for lunch 4 eggs 4 sausages, tomato, cucumber, cheese, burnt it a little though so it was ruined

Aye we will put anything in batter, mars bars, pizzas, burgers, irn bru, whisky. Healthy eating defo never happened this week, breakfast rolls, pies, sausages (venison), luxurious but highly fattening french cheese, pizza, crisps, chocolate, fizzy drinks and a subway today (it was free; a bird from work bought me it). Had leek and pea risotto for tea which was great. As of Monday I'm defo on the health kick. Even when eating all this shite I still get my five a day but need to cut out the junk.

I've never had battered irn bru, but I have had irn bru ice-cream which could lend itself to being battered in balls and served with a buckfast coulis.

Spade why don't you start menu planning and doing your soups and slow cooker proper meals again?

Can't say I've been much better today as all I've eaten is some fruit at work then just mashed potatoes there :o
