The new site looks good, takes a little getting used to but its similar to the format used on inthemix so its not all that strange...

Nice work :)
 
nice work all involved :D I think color and size tags as well as should be disabled, I think it detracts from the uniformity of an information based bulletin board...

Looks great. takes aaaages to load the graphics though. :\

Nice work to everyone who had a hand in setting it all up. I know this upgrade took hours of work. Thanks guys :D
 
look at all the sad people who checked bluelight earlier than I did! :p

It looks okay...need a bit of performance tuning.

Also, I reckon the threads look a bit cluttered with way it's structured..not as clean as the old format.

all in all though..ncie work..

It looks good guys, but IMHO I like the old one better!!

reason- pages take too long to load, even with cable modem...
 
well, um.

I don't really like it :( I'm trying to, I really am, but it's just so cluttered. It's very pretty, but it doesn't look like a message board anymore, if that makes sense? I'm sure I'll get over it and stop whining, but yeah, that's my opinion for the moment.

At least! it all seems to have come across well and everything seems to be working. And the index page looks great. Thanks to everyone who put in the hard yards for this, I really don't mean to sound like an ungrateful shit.

I'm with anna! on this one. I'm not worried about speed - as Skydancer said, it'll improve later int he week - but the clunkyness of a topic. Individual tabs makes everything so disjointed and chunky.

I don't want to sound ungrateful, the front page looks good and it's nice to have a few new features (even though I doubt I'll use them) and I do appreciate all the hard work, it'll just take getting used to I guess.

Oh and what happened to peoples position titles? No 'Bluelight Crew' or Forum Mods to be found! How will the greenlighters know who's who???

although i'm sure people who are sluts for options (somehwta like myself) won't mind
this is like a fancy vcr, where it doesn't really *really* need all the extra stuff and it might take a while to learn it all completely but um might be worth it
anyway..
 
oh my god!! i just got the shock of my life when i opened up the reply page... this rocks its got so many options

and i don't have to remember what silly codes each smilie is because they are right there!! this is great. :D :) ;) :p

and back to the point of my reply: i do like the new format, and when the new server gets installed later this week i am hoping to be as impressed with the speed of the site as i was with the old site...

so 2 thumbs up for me, and beer for all!!!

Well, I don't want to seem ungrateful, but I am, so you'll just have to deal with it.

I've got a few issues that I want to air.

1) Load times. I don't know how good or bad they are for those of you blessed with Cable, DSL, or other fast internet. But for us 56k peons, the load times suck harder than Jenna Jamieson.

2) Avatars might be awesome for those of us who are l337 h4x0rz and 14 years old with pimples and no sex life trying to pretend to be 16 nubile and female, but for the rest of us, I don't actually see the point, beyond chewing up more bandwidth and taking longer to load.

3) The UBB import sodomising all the quotes & spacing.

I'm just unsure as to whether the benefits that VB offers, outweigh the immediate disadvantages that I'm experiencing.

THIS TAKES FOREVER TO LOAD... i feel sorry for everyone who doesnt have cable...

Im hoping its just the fact that so many BL went through withdrawals over the weekend and are now trying to get their fix.

Yeah Change back to the way it was... Basic and fast.

(ok this is my first post but it needed to be heard.)
also it has a really cold design... i like the old disign. Suppose its cool with all the new features but if its good dont change it.
