My last thread got deleated but I don't see how its not HR.

If your about to weight some powder up what your steps? Do you just put it on your scales tray or use magazine paper. I tried magazine paper and some od it wouldn't some off. Id like to get http://www.amazon.com/LabExact-Cell...qid=1423890431&sr=8-1&keywords=weighins+paper so nothing will stock to it. But don't have the fins Atm moment. What are your steps? I don't want for my scale to be off.
thanka

You left a lot of info out. First, what scale are we talking about? Weighing grams is a lot easier than milligrams, which is a lot easier than micrograms. You can also measure doses out by volume if you turn it into a solution first. Depending on the scale you have it also may be impractical to attempt certain measurements.

What you are weighing also matters whether you need to give a shit about those weigh papers or not. I have found cutting wax paper, or better yet parchment paper, works very well.

Are you looking for tips for accuracy/consistency, or not losing product? I can give an entire guide on weighing but without knowing more I may be wasting my time on giving information for areas that you aren't even concerned about.

were talking mgs to grams. and just general scale tips. What works bettter wax or parchement? i would think the waax would be a problem

What exactly are you weighing? Just pill powders? Pill powders are generally easier to work with since they put in other ingredients to keep the powder from sticking to the pressing machines, plus binders to bulk it up. Wax paper is a little bit more slippery than parchment paper, but I generally use parchment paper. Although tiny amounts can stick to the parchment, they fall off easily if you hold it verticle and gently knock it (I do this over a piece of glass, so I can scrape up what fell off with a razor blade). If it is in mgs though there will be so little on the parchment it is negligible imo and don't even need the knocking step.

Also the more weight on the scale when you zero it, the better the accuracy tends to be. So if it is a small amount I will zero my scale with a quarter or something on it. If your scale has a tray it would be a good idea to use that, although I prefer using something that sits directly on the scale and doesn't go over the edge. It is also very good practice to calibrate your scale every so often.

Just powders. I have the gemini 20 which is made for powder. It has a tray that sits in and you put your powder on that. here it is http://www.amazon.com/American-Weig...UTF8&qid=1423961151&sr=8-1&keywords=gemini+20 looks at the second picture.

I dont want to put powder on that i know for a fact its not comming off. So Ive been putting on a about 4x4 inch square of nice glossy magazine paper since someone told me me thats whats best behind the lab grade in my first post.

What do yall use? I want nothing sticking at all, dont wanna loose any product.

thanks

I use aluminum foil or wax paper. The aluminum foil last longer but after a while some product does stick to it but not enough to worry about IMO. I weigh the foil then put product on foil and subtract the amount of the foil. I don't tare the foil as I find it can make the scales harder to give correct weight by •01g. That's just my technique for heroin.

thats a good idea. i wanna do that with my 10g calibration weight then set some kinda of paper that weights an easy domination.

I have that scale. Why don't you just put your paper on top of the tray and tare your scale to 0 then add your etizolam powder?

But does it measure 1 to 2mg like that? I think not. Im even not sure about it when I put 100mg down. About what does 1mg look like or even 10mg busy so I know my scale is somewhat in range

Scales that are able to weigh •01g are very touchy. When you tare them they can blink over •01g. That's why I cut up a piece of foil till it weighs •3g and then weight the product on top of foil. Then I just subtract the weight of the foil to get the most accurate weight of the product.

Tried that. If I remember correctly it wouldn't would have trouble with 10mg. Can you get 1 to 2 Mgs to measure up what's the least ammount you can get to register.on your. Scale.

Try one sided razor blades and a piece of glass (picture frame) as something to work on.

If you have that scale you probably cannot weigh anything less than about 10 mg accurately at once. Most scales don't work too well if you use them right at their limits of sensitivity.

Nobody can tell you what 100mg of powder looks like, because depending on the specific powder in question the particles can be of different sizes and hence the density would be different. Besides, a scale like what you have should be very accurate at weighing 100mg at once. Just trust it - the reason you have a scale is so you don't have to worry and guess. Just make sure to weigh things in a spot where there's no breeze, and avoid breathing on the scale or moving around it when you're weighing things. The air currents can provide enough force to make the numbers on the scale change.

If your 10gm calibration weight reads on the scale as 10gm, you don't need to worry! Trust your scale! Don't rely on eyeballing powder.

Do you have some way to measure volume of liquids accurately? A good way to check your scale is by measuring out 1 mL of water and making sure it weighs 1 gram.

You don't need to get special weighing tools or paper really... just use normal white office paper and something like a razor blade.

Wll I question my scale. I put a piece of paper down and tared to 0.000. Thrn used my 8-12 antistatic scoop and 1 scoop wouldnt regisyrt anything. it till i got till about 30mg.

Itll probably be better to put on the 10 gram weight on and cut the paper to . 100for easy math and add that way since my scales alllredady has a lot on it.

PS for anyone else with this scale calibrate after ever time its gets turned off.

Who here think a 1000mg to 500ml solution would 1005? work?

thanks
