I would say I'm fairly new to smoking weed. I've done it probably a total of 25 times in my life. Anyway, is it possible that weed affects my brain differently than other people? Because I've smoked the same amount of the same stuff as less experienced weed smokers but yet I've gotten much higher. I hear all kinds of random sirens and music that isn't even there. I see random lights that aren't there and things seem to almost breathe. I know the stuff isn't laced, I buy from the same dealer every time and I trust him because I knew him before he even was a dealer. Anyway, I just feel like weed hits me a lot harder than it should. Not that I'm complaining I love it, but it just seems there are a lot of people out there who claim weed does nothing for them but yet for me it does so much.

Consider yourself lucky!=D

Outta Pocket summed it up, be happy that you get more ripped than all your friends, and enjoy it while it lasts. Drugs affect everyone differently, and the psychedelic properties of Cannabis are a classic example. Some people smoke herb over ten times and can not distinguish the effects at all, and others suffer self-inflicted panic attacks from their first hit. Perhaps you have a psychological predisposition to euphoria of all sorts.

More importantly, however, is the issue of building up a tolerance to the drugs you are using. Brain chemistry can become resistant to substances according to the frequency and amount of your drug consumption, and this coupled with enzymatic recruitment leads to tolerance.

In other words, by about the 100th time you smoke weed you will understand why some people say that it doesn't do it for them anymore. Tolerance is supposed to go away within a few months, but I swear it will never be the same as those first 25 times. It will eventually loose its magic.

I think that the 'magic' is psycholigical, though. Like The first time you get high you dont know what to expect, so it blows you away. All the feelings you have are both being high and the feelings you get when you do something brand new that you enjoy.

Tolerence will go down to zero after a month or so break, even if you are a heavy daily smoker. The difference is that you know whats going to happen when you smoke again.

me too brother!

and I've smoked well over a 100 times and it still affects me the same. I only smoke about once a week so that might have something to do with it...

Yes consider yourselves lucky. If you start smoking more like everyday you'll build a strong tolerance.

Yes it hits you harder. I forced myself to build up my tolerance soley to be able to actually smoke a joint with other people. Stupid. Do what everyone else said, and consider yourself lucky.

yea, I was in the same situation as you, I smoked a couple summers ago and was so paranoid and twitchy and couldn't really handle it as much as I wanted to so I went to mdma, (Only like seven times though) but wanted to get a break from it for a while, so went back to weed, went to my friends house, lit up and in 2 hits I was stoned as hell. I was a little paranoid but I realized how paranoid I was and just needed to CHILL and hang out with friends, the next day about three hits and I was stoned and not as paranoid as the first day (the comedown fucking sucked, dint know a comedown was that bad from weed, maybe its just me) and gona smoke another day just to get my tolerance up for I could hang out without being so paranoid. And have some friggin pizza or somthin to get your mind off te paranoia lol

yeah it hits me like that and ive been smoking on and off for 6/7 years. always been pretty sensitive to it. im not particularity fond of getting very high though, it makes me feel weird

Yeah your one of the lucky ones. It makes me jeulous when I smoke up with people, and their like BAKED out of their mind and I'm like just buzzing and I'm smoking way more weed then them too. I really need a break soon,

If you smoke for years, even off and on, you will develop a permanent tolerance. It's not so much a tolerance, but a familiarity with the high.

Sometimes I'll find myself drifting in and out of being high. I will be focused and feel sober one moment and then maybe kick back and lounge the next.

sounds like a psychotic or schizophrenic episode. I would be careful.

That sounds like a low-dose acid trip for me.

@Original poster
The first year that i started smoking properly, stuff like that would sometimes happen if i smoked too much. You have just got to learn your limits like with any other drug, it will be different from person to person.

probably because you're actually inhaling while your less experienced friends are not. plus you've only smoked 25 times, so you're still in the get-so-high-you-hallucinate stage.

enjoy it!!

I smoke almost every day, and it still hits me harder than most of my friends who smoke less often. As far as i'm concerned this is a good thing.

In terms of smoking with others, i've perfected the art of taking hits that look larger than they are, and strategically using poor smoking technique when i know i'll be expected to keep hitting that bowl. I reccomend this approach, rather than trying to build a tolerance.

^ Stop wasting weed lol. I used to take like massive hits but just hold them in my mouth and not inhale. I dunno though, I dont really have an issue with saying I'm good anymore.
