weed and seretonin

I don't have an immediate answer but are you asking for a particular reason? Are you on antidepressants for example?

When I smoked pot on fluoxetine it was not as effective. However if I forgot to take my dose of fluoxetine and I smoked I would have a terrible scary high. But that's only my personal experience.
 
well the reason im asking is just because i rolled pretty hard last weekend which depleted most of my seretonin. and now im just trying to find the best way to get back to normal as fast as possible. i've already been using 5 htp and wat not.
but if smoking weed decreses seretonin in any way than im going to stop smoking until i feel completely better. so thats why i was asking
 
THC emulates the natural neurotransmitters in your brain, which in turn effects production of Serotonin, Norepi, and Dopamine.

So the answer would be yes, there is some effect, but personally, I think you should be fine if you smoke, just don't roll for a while.
 
I thought THC only affected the cannabinoid receptors and did not effect any of the other neurotransmitters.
 
I wouldn't expect weed to help seratonin but it does get me nice and high if I smoke some nice indoors that isn't from canada.

Holy crap man you just confirmed this for me. The exact same thing happened to me, I was taking prozac and I stopped my meds and got high, and I tripped fucking balls man. It was a bad trip as well, I couldn't bring myself back to normal.

But weed helps me through a comedown, it's like 500x worse without. So it's gotta be doing good shit up there right? hah.

Yeah definitely, this happened more than once so I'm pretty sure that's the reason for the bad trip

Wow. Maybe this is why kratom seems to reduce the affects of weed. Kratom is a partial SSRI like tramadol I believe.
