Opioids Wait, does opioid withdrawal fuck up your ACTUAL body temp?

For some reason, I thought it just messed up your perceived body temperature, like caused hot and cold sensations. But my mum took my temperature earlier an I had a moderate fever and just now she was shocked my how cold I was to the touch and brought me some blankets.

So, opioid withdrawal can actually cause legit hypo/hyperthermia? Can that be dangerous?

Also, my kidneys really hurt?

I don't have many "detox meds" as this wasn't planned but I have taken acetaminophen/ibuprofen for fever and general body aches and A LOOOOTTTTT (like 9000mg in 36 hours) of Gabapentin (for sleep, anxiolysis and sedation)

Oh, and my heart rate is normally like 65, but it's currently 127. My mum offered me a Bisoprolol (beta blocker), would that be more helpful or more harmful to withdrawal?

I also agree that it does as I have checked my own aswell when I went through wds or early onset. Where my body temp goes up 1.2-1.5 and then getting drenched in sweat and a few minutes later freezing again and then checking again and my temp dropped to normal.

But I do think this must cause some damage if not long term.

And damn girl, how did you get yourself in this, you normally got yourself covered.

I think that I read that opi wd can induce some minor fever, but I don't know.
What it's true is that wd often raises your BP a fucking lot, and one of the most notorious symptoms of high BP is that you feel hot, so I would assume that what you are feeling is more related to wds messing with your BP rather than with your actual body temperature.
Think that anti high BP medicines like clonidine are used during wds to help precisely with the hot/ cold flashes, and it works; on the other hand, I don't know about "anti-fever" meds (antipyretics) being useful in wds.
