I wuz juss wondering about what vitamins/herbs ect r the best to take, and if its best to take them before u roll, after, or both??
i got no clues on all the scientifik st00f involved

5-htp is very useful(get at GNC). Take it about 2-3hours before ya roll,and after you start to come down. Take about 200 milligrams each time. Also i've alot about B-6 and B-12 it helps produce serotin just like the 5-htp. Take the B vitamins about 5-6 hurs before you roll. Takes awhile to break down

Hey Sassy, I find the best thing to do is eat a good meal, get plenty of rest and have a banana before and after you roll. You also should take a multi vitamin supplement every day for your health period. If you get out of control buying things at GNC to supposedly help you roll harder, you may blow a shit load of money. You also need to make sure you allow your self enough time to replenish your serotin naturally. Hope this helps.

Ok, so there are SOOOO many 'vitamins' than we can take to 'aid' us in our quest to roll. Of course the one that stands out is 5htp.
Now, I'm not really sure HOW much this actually helps for the comeup (apparently if you take 5htp 2-3 hours before you drop, that's enough time for your body to use the extra seratonin stash)BUT I've found that it's great to take about 50-100mg everyday anyway, just to battle your everyday blues and the normal mid week fuck up

5htp is also excellent for enhancing your dreams, so if you LOVE colourful, vibrant, lifelike dreams like me, you'll find that by taking 50-100mg each day in the morning, you'll be having excellent dreams too!
5htp can also work as an appetite suppressant (the same way as E does..ie, it's using the same brain chemical) so don't overload on it if you're skinny already..HOWEVER if you feel you need to lose a few...it does work!
You're an aussie yeah? Youcan;t buy 5htp anywhere here, although it's NOT illegal to import it. Most of us aussie BL's order it online from a place called www.i-herb.com .
It's pretty expensive and the postage and handling is a bitch (so i recommend getting a few bottles at once), but if you go and check out th site, you can see for yourself.
Apart from 5htp you can do a full pre-load with stuff such as DLPA, Glutamine, L-Tyrosine (apparently this stuff is bad for you now, although when 'someone' came up with the pre-load it was ok..), magnesium and Vitamin C. I serached and searched for a good recipe, but all the archives have disappeared. Sorry. Out of all of these amino acids and vitamins..there are only 2 that I would say to include...
Magnesium: magnesium stops muscle spasms, jaw clenching and cramps. I can't remember if cramping is caused by too much or too little salt in your body, but it's one of the two and the magnesium helps to regulate this. Take this before you roll. I'm not sure how much to take maybe someone can help you with this BUT I usually just look at the bottle, see the daily recommended dosage and double it. probably not very sensible, but i haven't dies yet! Vitamin C: In my opinion EVERYONE should take vitamin C everyday. Especially if you've got those yummy chewable ones. I try to remember everyday, BUT on the day of my roll I try to chew about 1000mg..(one chewy tab has 500mg) and then for a couple of days after I'll chew like one tablet a day. I find lately that my immune system just isn't as good as it used to be (sure sign for a break yeah?), the vitamin C just gives it a little boost.
The only other thing I'd recommend would be St John's Wort. HOWEVER don't use this on the day of your roll...some people say it hinders it (I can't remember why..I think it's kina the same reason why you shouldn;t take prozac with E) SJW is just kind of like and everyday alternative to 5htp...take a few every morning and it's a lot cheaper than 5htp AND it does help to relieve that mid week depression. You can also buy this from the chemist.

Besides eating well, excercising, and getting good sleep. Try this other stuff.
1 multivitamin everyday - promote daily health
try to take 50-100mg of 5htp daily - promote healthy seratonin levels
12 hours before dropping I take 300-350mg of 5htp with white grapefruit juice. - boosts my seratonin level. The grapefruit juice's sugar spikes my insulin levels which helps more seratonin transfer to my brain and not stay in my blood stream
6 hours before i take my 5htp i take vitamin B6. Your body needs vitamin B6 to turn 5htp into 5ht which is seratonin. I take about 200mg of B6
2 hours before rolling I take 2000mg of Vitamin C. Vitamin C in an antioxidant. Antioxidants help your body destroy free radicals which are VERY harmful. In fact free radicals are what your seratonin receptors eventually start taking in during your roll, which destroys them. fewer seratonin receptors means higher tolerance to MDMA. This is bad if you didn't know.
I also take Glutamine 2 hours before. About 2000mg. Glutamine acts as some kind of "gas" or a glucose (sugar) for your brain.
DLPA is good for the producing of dopamine. Which gives your body that tingling, buzzing feeling. I like to take it, about 1500mg. but some people argue that it can be harmful to your brain and actually damage your seratonin receptors.
Tyrosine I don't take it. It also produces dopamine, so why take two things that do that. I think it's a waste, and again could be harmful to you.
I don't take magnesium because I like the jaw clenching and the involuntary shaking of my legs and stuff. makes me feel more f-ed up. But it is supposed to help stop clenching and shaking. It actually has to do with some kind of ratio between your body's magnesium content and calcium content. i haven't done much research on this cause, like i said i don't take it.
after rolling, take about 200mg of 5htp to help next day blues and Vitamin C again about 1000mg
stay away from St. John's Wort the day before and the day of rolling. St. John's Wort is believed to act as an SSRI. Which is a "Something" Seratonin Reuptake Inhibitor. Like Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft. It will hinder the effects of your roll. However St. John's Wort may help with the next day blues, but I haven't tried it.
oh and here's that recipe that Mona was talking about. Dr. Tom divised this back in the good old days when all we had was the MDMA Clearinghouse Forum.
Take w/ 16oz. of white grapefruit juice or orange juice 1 - 1.5 hours before dropping.
200-500mg of 5-HTP
500-1000mg of Tyrosine
500-1500mg of DLPA
2 grams of Glutamine
1 gram of Vitamin C
