Visual Snow (or HPPD?) & doctors...

Unfortunate

Hello guys, I have a few questions...

I used to take E about 3 years ago, but I haven't since then. This year I have noticed I have "Visual Snow" which is basically like static in my vision. Here is a simulation.

Basically I am wondering if this is HPPD, or even if E could have caused this?

I have done eye tests, been to eye and retina specialists and they say nothing is wrong with my eyes, so I assume it is a neurological problem.. I really have no real clue at this moment.

If I go to a neurologist, should I tell him about my past use of E? Can E not show any sign of damage for several years before you notice something?

Did this just appear out of nowhere when not doing any drugs? I don't really see how something you took 3 years ago could start causing problems years later. However I think everyone sees visual snow, more or less, at certain times. Whether it be due to lack of sleep, stress or some other cause. I would not worry too much about it unless it really is as bad as on that picture. Then I'd have it checked out.

I also have visual snow, though not white dots like shown on the pictures, mine manifests itself in rainbow colors. I don't think too much about it.

I would personally not tell the doctor about past E use that happened years ago if I were to see one, getting branded as a drug addicted by the medical community could have annoying consequences later in life if you need certain medications.

Yeah haven't done single drug for 3 years or more, if the brain is not fully developed at the time of use maybe it would come back as the brain changes over the years?

^I understand you, I just personally don't think it's relevant enough information to share considering how long ago it happened. But then again I am no doctor so I can't know for sure it isn't.

Thank you guys for responding to this thread... I am still unsure of what I am going to do is there anyone else out their with some info or maybe who is also experiencing this problem?

I doubt this problem is caused for your past ecstasy use although I'm not sure.
I wouldn't tell your doctor about your past drug use, especially if it is drug induced HPPD then there is no cure for it whereas there may be with other neurological disorders which may cause this, and some of which may be dangerous.
Definitely don't want him writing you off on a harmless disorder when there could be something much larger at play here

I've actually read about HPPD and visual snow happening to a lot of E users. I had my own form, which was not white snow rather a weird static over everything.
How ever it is really odd how it is showing up 3 years later , when you haven't used any drugs in that time. All i can say is a neurologist will probably say nothing is wrong, and that is a lot of money down the drain. Best thing is to ignore it , as problems like this clear up by them self. If it becomes really bad where you feel like you are detached from reality because of it, then i guess talk to a neurologist / doctor and yea... it will probably be a good idea to bring up the E usage unless you want to waste your money.
