An interesting point I'd like to add to the thread, not directly related to the original point - but on a similar note, is that if I play a single game repeatedly for a long period of time, I often get CEVs related to that game - even if I am sober. They are nowhere near as intense as CEVs on psychedelics, but they are there. Now the annoying thing about this is recently I was playing a lot of Minecraft, I tripped last Wednesday on 2C-E, and ALL my CEVs were in blocks like Minecraft - limited to the same textures and colours as Minecraft, etc.. It basically was unbearably boring because the visuals never changed the whole trip haha. Anyone have any idea of the science behind this? I find it quite interesting, I can do other things repeatedly for long periods of time and not have the same thing.. But games, particularly blocky ones for some reason (e.g. Tetris, Minecraft, etc) always produce CEVs after I play them for a long time.
As for gaming while tripping, I've never found a game that can really engage me while tripping. Games that I normally love sober seem way too much effort when I'm tripping. Tripping dramatically changes the things I enjoy, for example, normally I'm not a big fan of films or TV - as I like to be actively engaging with something (which is why I prefer gaming), and I love gaming - but when I trip the reverse is true, just sitting there and watching a HD nature channel or a good trippy film is amazing, but playing games seems dull and not really very enjoyable.
I think it's largely a matter of headspace, when tripping things are slowed and you are more patient - activities like gaming or sports, which require quick thinking - aren't going to work out too well while tripping. On the other hand, things that require you to think more deeply, or require creativity, or allow you to relax - all suddenly become amazing while tripping, whether you enjoy them sober or not.
If anything, reading would probably be great while tripping, I've yet to try it, but I enjoy listening to peoples' stories while tripping, and reading a good book would certainly allow for some deep thinking too.
