id played very little of half life 2 before getting this and i have to say, its one of the smartest first person shooters ive ever played. it constantly makes me feel like im dumb when trying to figure out the puzzles. the graphics arent anything to brag about being as they are a couple of years old, but they still look very nice. especially the character face animations and textures. gravity gun is one hell of a fun weapon! havent even finished the regular campaign yet but im having fun working on it.
now a little about portal. this has got to be the most interesting game ive come across in years. its a first person shooter puzzle game that bases itself off the oldest cartoon trick in the book: the portable hole. your portal gun has two rounds: an orange portal and a blue portal. they are both entrance/exits so it doesnt matter which one you shoot where, just know that youll be able to walk into one, and come out the other. pretty simple concept, use the portals to advance through the testing lab you wake up in. the puzzles get increasingly harder and you dont get much in the way of instructions, just a detached computer voice thats either malfunctioning or insane. lots of neat tricks will be needed to progress, including transferring your momentum through the portals by jumping through them from great heights to shoot you out of the exit portal like a cannon. tons of fun and the absolute most rewarding ending credits evar!
i havent played any team fortress yet, but it looks okay

I'm very interested in hearing more about the multi player aspects of the game, im picking it up either way.... but would still like to know.

Half life is the best series of games ever made. Anyone who hasn't played them and has the capabilities to do so, go out and play that shit. You won't be disappointed. Such a rewarding story line. Man, I love those games.

The orange box is worth it even just for TF2. I am not really sure how good TF2 is on the xbox but for PC it is one of the best games I have played in a long time. Maybe it is partially because I have been waiting 8 years for it to come out but either way it is extremely addictive.

this is the only thing i asked for xmas. i'm psyched because lately i haven't been gaming that much, so i'm looking for this to respark that console gaming adidiction.

Just got done playing a 6 hour marathon session of TF2. The mappers are finally making some good custom maps so the game is getting a lot more interesting. If there is anyone else that plays TF2 hit me up on steam, my steam name is Lysergic. We should get a team going

Does anyone know if TF 2 will have more maps available via xbox live?

And do they cost money?

Unless they offer a mapping utility to use for the xbox I doubt you will see any free custom maps, don't quote me on that though. I am not really sure how microsoft handles user created content or if they even offer it =/

dont hold your breath
they may wait for some custom maps to get really popular and then put them on xboxlive but they WILL charge you for them. maybe they wont, but again,
dont hold your breath

Well guys... they announced a map pack included with a few fixes to glitches they hadnt already taken care of. I assume it will be between $4-$10.
