you can't treat it like an MMO. you are the main character you are not one of many. i love MMO's and i've played them for years, but this game is much different because the focus is on you. you can't treat it like a level grind or a race to the top like MMO's, you need to take in the scenery, consider your actions, ect. i love it :)

I don't consider mmo's a level grind or race to the top. I just don't enjoy playing single player games anymore.. they bore me to death.

^^ Agreed

I had the same experience in Oblivion. Playing an RPG without multiplayer is really boring to me. Even Diablo/Dungeon Siege type games.

It was fun for a while but I lost interest very quickly. The game seemed much to easy, I think I died 1 time the entire time I played. I don't like dying all of the time but none of the monsters presented any sort of challenge, I never had to rethink my strategies. I agree with whomever said it felt like an MMO without other people, the world seemed so empty.

thats why there is a dificulty bar in the settings, you can turn it up or down at any time during gameplay.

yeah but it didn't actually make the game that much more difficult, it only changed the enemies stats. The AI didn't get any smarter with it and that was my main problem, the AI was always predictable. It might have been because I am a PC gamer and nothing in the game was really new for me but I can understand why console gamers would have liked it.

Download Oscuros Oblivion Overhaul, it will make Oblivion much more enjoyable.

Your truly,

Zeke (Oblivion addict)

The problem with Oblivion is that it is so empty. You can run from one side of the world to the other and only encounter a few people and maybe 2 wolves. Theres nothing to fight and no one to talk to. Morrowind was a much better game in my opinion. The second you leave town there are creatures walking around you and there are people all over the place. The place is really alive and there are so many things to do. In Oblivion it is like Morrowind without any spawns...
I never got far into Oblivion, but I played Morrowind for many months and beat it more than once.

Yep. Morrowind was a better game. They need to go back to their roots with elder scrolls V

you guys should all go kill a sleeping hobo in cold blood and then rest outside somewhere

you get to join an amazing clan.. and the game practially turns into hitman.. i wont go into any further detail

Everquest was my favorite MMO. Haven't played one even half as good since.

That said, I believe Oblivion to be the best single player RPG available. The sheer number of things to do almost compares with a number of the leading MMO's. Morrowind, too, was fantastic.

One complaint with Oblivion: The reward from the main quest is a SHAM :)

I got ESIV (the one that includes the expansions) this and it seems really good. Unfortunately when I got my XBox I got a bunch of good games at once (Assassin's Creed, NBA Live '08, skate., and Bioshock), so others like Elder Scrolls are currently being neglected..
