i was playing this at the arcade for a short time. enjoyed it quite a bit. it took the good old formula and added brilliant graphics. the new bad guy "seth" is bullshit hard.

What's up with the ink like streaks some moves leave behind? It looks like they want it to look like a drawing or Chinese characters but I don't know if I like that yet.

yeah it's supposed to look like a japanese oil painting or something. it's quite pretty. the game goes right back to the good old controls and speed (i hated the hyper crap) and added a "hold too button to charge" move which is unblockable, blocks other moves and stuns your opponent, but if you miss, you are left open for counters.
it also has a couple different degrees of "super" moves per character, both with spectacular animations.
i had a lot of fun on this game.

the new characters were okay.

Ya I read that each character had a super move and then another that could only be done when you sustained a certain amount of damage.

its the fuckin shit. has alot of new features with supers/ultras/focus/ex attacks but still has the og sf feel.

i reserved the tourney stick, and it sucks that gamestop didn't get it in yet, some have tho, sooo they are offering a free kick ass wall scroll to make up for the lag, rather have the damn stick now than scroll but at least its something. playin with xbox dpad is kinda ehhhhhh but playable, at least i can get comfy with the new features n' stuff before venturing online to put in work

hmm....can't decide between this or FEAR 2 or Star Ocean. I did have a lot of fun with SC4 and enjoy fighters in general. I understand they kept it kinda oldschool, but just improved on everything? well I heard the anime cut scences are lame.

this stick is soo good. if u are going to play SF4 on the console you NEED one. a console controller won't do. its like the damn thing has ESP, i just think of doing moves/combos and the stick can read my mind and executes em... t-t-t-totally awesome.

a couple of gripes. one, some online games (ps3) have a weird laggy reaction time to the moves so it can be difficult to play, and two, when you set it open to challengers, it takes forever to get anywhere in the game cuz people are challenging so regularly. sometimes you start the same fight 4-5 times and each time it gets interrupted with "a new challenger has entered the ring".

but still i only want to play more and more

Agreed!!

I'm getting a bit pissed off with online play for what you mention above, but old skool sitting next to your mate MANO EL MANO and hadukening the fuck out of him until he crys is all kinds of awesome still.... ahhh SF i love you.

Ya the cutscenes blow. The music is pretty corny, Japanese anime uplifting crap too but that's easily remedied.

I like it, looks great plays better than I ever remember. Finally unlocked everyone but Seth. Akuma is all I need anyway, ya I know his ultra is cheap as hell but he's still my boy. Gouken is a lot weaker than I expected, akuma seems much better but maybe that just me.

Online plays flawlessly, my only gripe is people that just throw fireball after fireball. It becomes a really stupid match when all that you can do is throw fireballs to block the ones coming at you. I have to use akuma's half circle fireball just to get em to stop. Anyone else run into this all the time? I mean I like ken/ryu/akuma as much as the next guy but I change it up a lot and I certainly don't want to play see who can throw a fireball the most, its annoying.
