Well its out, what does everyone think? I rented it for the 360 and i think it is pretty damn good. Graphics are amazing. Sound is amazing. Customizing is great also with many force powers you can gain through leveling up. Also you can customize your lightsaber and the costume that you wear. I saw a bad azz black lightsaber that you can unlock. I am about 2 hours into it and if it keeps up the intensity throughout the rest of the game, I would be very impressed.

What does everyone else think?

Does this have online multiplayer?

If so, it will be good like Jedi Knight II for the PC

i didnt see any multiplayer for the 360. i believe the Wii version has some sort of multiplayer fighting game.

can't wait to play it on the wii.

i tried my mate's 360 version. what i saw i liked. throwing storm troopers at tie fighter is win.
the character is very nimble and light on his feet. this could be explained as force power but it feels unnatural. i appreciate the weighted characters of assassin's creed and gtaiv.

Does it have multiplier or what?

I'd be down if it had Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy style fights.

i found no multi-player

Lame.. games without multiplayer are just boring as fuck to me.

Not only do they slap you in the face by denying you the chance to play with other people but I've yet to see a game with polished enough AI to even be worth fighting against.

The Force Unleashed - Xbox 360 Multiplayer [Rumor]

May 21, 2008 · Print This Article

Despite all of the denial from LucasArts about a multiplayer for the xBox360 or the Playstation 3, a little rumor has surfaced, proposing that their will be a patch released for the Xbox Live sometime next year.

I really couldn’t tell you if this were true or not but the source sounds pretty solid. I just can’t see why LucasArts would say that we weren’t getting multiplayer and piss a whole lot of people off and then turn around and release a multiplayer patch. That just seems to be on the silly side.

Anyway, from TheForce.net:

” Bothan Spy has come up big if what I’m about to pass along comes to fruition…

We have recently heard from LucasArts that there are no plans for multiplayer on the PS3 or the Xbox 360 versions of The Force Unleashed since it’s going to be availble on the Wii, PSP and DS. (See this post with our friends at EUCantina.net) Well, that might not be entirely true according to my source who is rather close to the TFU action. I can only go into so much detail to protect our Bothan Spy so feel free to take this as a rumor but if it turns out to be true, you heard it hear first! Per BS (gotta love the shorthand initials :) Microsoft is currently working on a new patch for Xbox Live that is slated to come out sometime early next year.

The patch is none other than The Force Unleashed Multi-Player! Based on what has been seen of this “demo patch”, there are 45 players to choose from in multiple costumes and the EU is highly represented. Characters include Quinlan Vos, Mara Jade, Assaj Ventress, Jedi Leia, A’Sharad Hett, Qui-Gon, Cin Drallig, Darth Desolous, Darth Maul, Count Dooku, Jedi Brute (from the ROTS game), Anakin, Yoda, Mace, Ben Kenobi, Luke, Vader Paplatine, characters from the Legacy series and more. Apparently there will be 3 patches total so who knows what else might be in store.

To say this could be great news is an understatement! Though multiplayer on the Wii should be fantastic, imagine the multiplayer with full use of the next-gen console capabilities, graphics and use of Euphoria and Digital Molecular Matter. Let’s not also forget the wide scope of Xbox Live in general. How many players will be able to battle it out at once while talking trash over the headphones?

I'll believe it when I see it.. but I don't have a 360 anyway cause they suck.

^^ Yes, I have a PS3 but it sucks too. Just slightly less than a 360 cause there is no monthly fee to play online. PC gaming is for me.

i just left PC Gaming for consoles when i got my 360 2 months ago. Reasons i left PC Gaming= NO GAMES! 2007 and 2008 were full of disappointment for me.

Top Disappointments: Hellgate London, Tabula Rasa, Age of Conan.

Best games i played were console ports: Bioshock, Mass Effect

Its sad for me because i was a DIEHARD PCGAMER.

I hired it the other night and played for a good few hours.

The graphics are quite impressive and very nice to look at. Using the force powers looks cool as well. Though the controls are clumsy, the levels are linear and this just seems to be a kind of obvious linearity that I was aware of most of the time while playing. I also found that the environment didn't seem all that interactive. I mean, you can pull things off the walls and throw pieces of junk around with your force powers, but they're just that, junk. It's all the same shit whatever level you play, objects that you pick up and throw at enemies or blow up. The game encourages you to explore the environment to collect the force power up things, but that's about it. I guess I just feel like something is missing when you can't pick up the enemies guns after you kill them, and I was a little put off by the bodies of enemies disappearing after a while, I thought we got past that stage in gaming...

Also, the enemies reactions to attacks could have been a bit more varied. Perhaps some missing limbs wouldn't have gone astray? And a better rag doll effect would have been nice (something more like GTAIV).

I can't help but thinking it's a kind of shallow game.

lol

I've noticed that this is a pet hate of yours. I remember you once mentioned that you never really got into the Halo series because of the 'unrealistic' mechanics of the movement (I'm guessing because Halo has kind of floaty movement.)

Not dissin, I just find it interesting, as personally it's never been something that's really annoyed me. Though I am usually aware of differences in character weightings and movement in different games, I tend to enjoy the variety (different games having different feelings).
