yep I play it a few times a week. only game i play actually.

just did well with broodmother but her ult is hax :P

Its much better on Reign of Chaos IMO.

Became far too complicated with the newer versions, with all these weapon requirements etc.. I spend too much time trying to find them.

But it is good to watch a truly skilled player

^ the items are pretty easy to figure out after awhile.

the most important thing u want to do is buy items that will help you survive the first 7 levels with your starting gold. basically don't buy anything over 400g when u start. ring of regen, sobimask, ring of the basilisk, tangos are all good choices because they keep you in your lane awhile.

most people try to go straight for super good items and that's a bad idea. the best items u can get (for a public game atleast) are a boot which you can upgrade to a powertread (few characters need phase boots or boots of travels so don't even think about those) but only upgrade it after you've completed 3 nulls, wraiths, or bracers depending on your hero. these 3 items will make you WAY more powerful and cost almost nothing. 5th item is some kind of item to increase your survivability (Hood, vanguard, linken) and 6th item is your end game item (butterfly on most agilities, radiance for some other heros, etc).

there's some deviation in there but you can't go wrong with that strategy to begin with.

Aanallein. Your right if its not an EM game. If its Em i usally get 2 bracers/band/talisman or and some tango's but i know what you mean.

Last night I was tearing up pugs. I randomed Bloodseeker 2 games in a row. It was Beautiful

I'd play DotA if I wasn't so terrible at it. (Or any RTS for that matter)

I play alot of dota. Its sorta lost its touch when the new versions arent any more fun or different. its a great game though

I used to hate the idea of people playing custom wc3 maps over ladder, back when I played ladder pretty hard. Then I realized how awesome it really is once it started coming up on the competitive scene. I pretty much go on dota binges, I'll get it in my head every once in a while and play it hardcore for a few weeks and then not touch it for a while.

There's really a lot of depth to it. It got to be a lot of fun for me when I got away from the pubstomping and trying to achieve the best scores possible, and got to playing in private games/leagues and focusing on teamwork, hero synergy, map visibility, and improving all the other little things that can add up over the course of a game. Once you're to the point where you can blow gold on wards and other consumables and rush for boots of travel first and make it work out better than rushing for a "powerful" item I think you really have a good understanding of the game.

I've always enjoyed that side of my games. But of course I still like getting drunk and making an ass out of myself on dota :)

anybody here play in TDA games on useast at all?? fun stuff, my username is i_have_the_haxx, let me know if you ever want to play a game.
