Yes, it's quite a mouthful, I know. It's a form of fainting that I unfortunately am more prone to have one than the average person. It's caused by a slow of the hart rate and a drop in blood pressure that creates a lack of blood in my brain. This can be triggered by several things, and drugs is one of them. I use psychedelics every so often, and having one while on them is very bothersome.

Because although it is basically harmless, I happen to have a pretty severe case in which I spasm around for a minute or so with my eyes opened and a demonic stare on my face. When this happens during a trip, this can be pretty traumatic to my friends, as their feeling of fear and anxiety are greatly enhanced by the drugs. So I want to do as much as I can to avoid having one. So far I have thought of drinking a lot of sport drinks when tripping to enlarge my blood volume and whenever I feel an attack coming, putting my head lower than the rest of my body.

I was wondering if someone else has experienced something similar or if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Cheers! That article provided me with another precaution. I have been to a doctor with it, but it was only afterwards when I found out my parents already had taken me to the doctor for it when I was a kid and I was already diagnosed. Six year old me falling off the can while stooling on a high fever and spazzing around when getting my flu shot apparently got them worried and irritated, haha. But I digress, it might be useful to return to the doctor with my newborn knowledge.

I suffer from the same thing. Speak to your doctor - there are numerous ways to prevent loss of consciousness, especially if you can feel it coming on.

Maybe try this: http://circ.ahajournals.org/content/106/13/1684.long

^^ this.

I had vasovagal syncope when I was pregnant... it was actually the first sign that told me something was off. I went to the doctor for my fainting and she told me that if it became a problem there were various drugs that would help me. You may want to look into this with your doctor. I never took a urine test at the docs.

I would advise going to the doctor and seeing if they can help you out a bit and maybe see what drugs are on the market and if you would be able to take any (my doc said she would put me on an amphetamine to increase my BP...remember, she didn't know I was pregnant because neither did I). If you do get put on any prescriptions, be careful with drug interactions, please.

Thanks for your reply. I will go see a doctor about it again, but I'm not interested in taking medications for it. Although the attacks appear scary they are virtually innocent so I don't see a reason to pop a pill for something that isn't harmful and only happens twice a year at most.

Keep you fluids and energy intake high, and most importantly lie down as soon as you feel it coming on.
