I think most of us have one or at least things that irrationally INFURIATE us. What are yours? Here are some of mine:

1) People using the wrong your/you're

2) People using the wrong there/their/they're

3) "Irregardless"

4) "Supposubly"

5) Not knowing whether it's "less" or it's "fewer"

6) Not knowing whether you're "doing good" or "doing well"

7) "Literally" when it's not literal.

8 ) Using the apostrophe in the wrong place (for example, as a possessive when it's a contraction).

9) "Expresso"

That's it off the top of my head lol.

EDIT: I have mild-moderate brain damage so YES I write the wrong thing sometimes but that's different :p

whether or weather

people saying "German" when they actually mean "Bavarian", but just don't know the difference (example: "Germans love beer")

people that say "smarter than me"

people that write "über" like this: "uber". without access to an ü it should be "ueber". They also pronounce it oober, but that's kinda funny.

people that don't pronounce Æ like it's supposed to

people that use prepositions wrong

people that are native English speakers and are worse at their own language's grammar/spelling than I

people that write "per say", because they actually think that's how it's spelled

oh I totally do this... whole way through :ROFLMAO: thank you for educating me <3

I don't think I have ever written it, but that would have been my guess until google corrected me lol

I have tried explaining the difference between then and than to someone many times, and they always get it wrong lol..
I tried harder than I should have, then I gave up.

English is not even my native language. My native language is Finnish. But i have some grammar Nazism to share anyway. Which is not even accurate.

"I could care less about what you say" When it should be "I couldn't care less about what you say" If you could care less, then you care at least a little bit. Because a lesser amount of caring is possible. If you actually don't give a fuck, then you "Couldn't care less" And why is this not accurate? Because i googled it, not so long time ago. It is, or was, such a common mistake that it is acceptable grammar these days.

Merriam-Webster treats the phrases couldn't care less and could care less as synonymous, both meaning "not concerned or interested at all." "Couldn't care less" is the older and more obvious phrase grammatically, but it has been confused for so long that both are now defined. Additionally, the example sentence "it's impossible that could care less" is the same as the intended meaning.

And WHY can't people pronounce these simple words??? That shit is NOTHING! :D

I don't even know HOW to add accents above vowels.

Yes! I HATE "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less" because the person is usually trying to demonstrate that they do not care at all and "I could care less" implies that you DO care, at least a little.

Hey as long as you don't make English mistakes :) Those are sad, the language is so simple,
I couldn't imagine making many mistakes, if any.

If you hold alt and press the approriate numbers (on your numpad) as shown in the list at the site i posted above, is one way...
À is alt + 0192 for example..
ü is alt + 0252
we just have extra keys ;) where american keyboards have all the { } [ ] ´ ` we just have Ä Ö Ü and ß

as to French/Spanish/Italian accents you don't have to go that far. You can push a ´ ` or ^ the key should wait for another keystroke until it actually presses, so you usually see it when you hit space. So after hitting the accent you just hit a: á à â á é é è í or whatever you want

People think that ß is a B :D
that is grand
I had someone learning the language actually believe that we would put a capital B at the END of a word:
"Zum SchluB"...srsly?!

Most come as a result of trying to type the same speed I'm thinking to try to keep up with my flow of thought..
but I go back and fix things before I post them generally.

Other times I think it is because most people do not use half of the English language... the technical terms, scientific, etc...
They only speak the ones that they like and understand in real life situations...

If I want to use a less-used word it is likely no one in my real life uses it....
so I have to look up what it really means and how to spell/say it...

Most people I grew up with did not particularly excel nor enjoy English class.. they already spoke it, so there was nothing to learn.
I was right along with this idea as a child, but I respect all knowledge at the end of the day, and like to be understood...
So I try to ensure what I am saying is easy to understand by using the correct words and grammar the best I can.
