^thats an interesting way to do it, I'll write another post in that format.
-Heroin: a more sedating opiate, though with moderate dosages it has definate stimulant properties. That morning shot always gets me out of bed, and ready to face the cold, cruel world.
-Oxycodone: initially a stimulating buzz which I find causes more nausea than other opiates/opioids. After it peaks, oxy turns pretty sedating though. Like other Thebaine derivatives, I find the nods to be a little eerie, where I jolt awake from anxiety, as the auditory hallucinations can get kind of weird.
-Alprazolam: Like all benzo's, when taken in high dosages, Xanax just puts me down. But if I havnt used In a while, I always start off with a low dosage, no more than .5mg. When taken in moderation for anxiety, I find alprazolam to be me of the more stimulating benzodiazepine's. There's nothing like a football under the tongue and a cup of coffee in the morning! Mm mm!
-Methadone: A long lasting synthetic opioid, which I currently am taking for maintenance. At low dosages, (30mg, which is what I'm on now), methadone is very stimulating IMO, similar to buprenorphine, but with a more grounded feeling (if that makes sense)l I love low dose methadone as it gives me hours of euphoria and energy, and helps my psychological (and physical) cravings way more than bupe ever did (though I still believe suboxone/subutex is the best first course of action.
-Lorazepam: kind of in between clonazepam and alprazolam as far as duration and onset go, though it is also 1/2 as strong. I used to love lorazepam but now it feels too hypnotic for me, like a Z-drug almost, which is not what I want for GAD.
-Zolpidem: A totally bizzare depressant belonging to the Z-drug class (zolpidem, zopiclone). IMO ambien is similar to mixing DXM with Lorazepam. I'll often get this bizzare feeling that I can relate and feel for inarimate objects. I find it fun once in a blue moon, but as far as sleep medications go, it's got nothing on most benzo's.
