for years now, even though i am well beyond my opiate addictions, there has been one mystery that still alludes me. An unknown powerful opiate, encountered in Columbus, Ohio in January 2010. the like of which i never encountered again, even though me and my former addiction were well traveled about the major cities of the midwest united states.
-white/translucent fine, crystalline powder.
-slightly astringent/bitter taste
-no noticeable smell
-sold in amounts from .05g (50mg) and up.
-finer crystal powder dissolved almost immediately in cold water, leaving some salt-grain sized, slower dissolving particles
-is biologically active via oral, insufflation, sub-cutaneous, intravenous ROAs
-very potent, ~60mg oral/~40mg insufflation/~25mg IV is a strong dose for someone with a moderate opiate tolerance.
-threshold dose for opiate naive is ~10mg insufflated. reckless junkie queen that i was, i would have NEVER administer this intravenously to the opiate unexperienced.
-duration of effect between 4-8 hours depending on ROA.
one of my typical personal experiences: 30mg IV, clear liquid in the syringe, still the consistency of water. Noticeable effects start approx 3 seconds after injection. begins with a tension in the body/nerves of the back. the tension gets tighter, feels as though there is an immediate rash in the veins. feels like extremely transient vasoconstriction, overcome with a feeling of high speed sand blast to the top and back of the head. it was NOT the whole-body-pins-and-needles feeling of certain types of high-morphine-content heroin. This was something different. No noticeable opiate action until the 'cold wave crashes' after 7 long seconds and the tension melts into a very warm opiate euphoria. (my friends would colloquially call it 'the cramp'. another experienced friend likened it to the DXM 'robo-itch' but without the rash, and concentrated in the back of the head.) Strong opiate sedate, pin-point pupils, nod, itch, etc... fealt for 3+ hours after injection. Gradually fading over the last hour.
after effects included a general worn out feeling, strong headache, nausea. if used multiple times a day, a moderate headache would be present throughout the entire duration of the drug. (also reported by others)
i first encountered it in northwestern columbus ohio in late january of 2010. it was touted as 'dilaudid' but knowledge on the street was that it definately was not dilaudid. sold by only one 'big guy', the entire 6 months i was in contact with it, it was never wholesale dealt around the many circles i knew all around c-bus at the time. in time, it then just began to be known by "D". upon a subsequent trip to rehabilitation in late 2010 i spoke to other drug addicted residences of the columbus area, and it seemed to have branched out (or sold by others) to the southeast suburbs and even to the more southern less populated cities around an hour south of columbus.
there was a rumor at the time that it was hospital grade "dried morphine". what leads my away from that conclusion is when a shot was missed, there was typically no acute topical allergic reaction so common when even a minute amount of morphine is missed. just typical slight redness and swelling more common to a missed cocaine shot.
if anyone can identify this... or have encountered this substance, even if you dont know what it specifically was, please reply.
