Throughout the years I've had innumerous conversations with people on IDing old nick shows or just simply remenescing them. :) I have NGAS (Nickelodeon Games and Sports) on my digital cable, and sometimes Noggin shows a couple classics like Clarissa and such... but it isn't the same. :(

I'm a firm believer that our generation grew up with the *best* Nickelodeon shows to ever air:

Are You Afraid of the Dark? : One of the shows I wish to come back most
Roundhouse : My sister's favorite.. I always wanted to win that chair damnit!
You Can't Do That on Television : Classic
Clarissa Explains it All (fucking Ferg) : I loved Clarissa and Sam.. why didn't they ever hook up? MAD sex scenes should have occured
Nick Arcade : Badass, if only because Phil Moore had the best diddlys
David the Gnome : My most cherished children's cartoon.. favorite episode was the fawn who broke her leg
Today's Special : I was really young for this one but I do remember the manequin
Fred Penner's Place : This show took me FOREVER to figure out what the hell it was. He was sort of like a Raffi figure... ran through the forest to play his guitar.
Salute Your Shorts : Everyone still knows this song and there's a reason for it. :)
Ren and Stimpy : One of those that everyone questions, why did they take this off the air?!
Noozles/ The Adventures of the Little Koala : I can't figure out which is which but they were both magical and beautiful little Aussie creatures
Eureka's Castle : I only liked Eureka and the theme song. The moat animals who fought over peanut better suuuuccked.
Pete & Pete : I'm thinking about getting a tat like Pete. ;)
G.U.T.S. : I watch this show just about every time I'm home. Luckily NGAS plays marathons for it. I'd marry Mike (the host). The kids make SUCH fools of themselves heheehe.
Doug : Patty Mayonaise! Skeeter! Porkchop! Beloved charaters who have become sucky because of Disney.
Legends of the Hidden Temple : Ol Meck was really fuckin cool, but the host, Fog should have been called Fag because you could just tell he was the dude after work who went to the bar and thought he was hot shit.
Secret World of Alex Mack : Alex's adventures were awesome! My secret was that I wanted to be her.
Fraggle Rock : Do I even need to comment?
Hey! Dude : I remember this entire theme song as well.
Rocko's Modern Life : I watched this show religiously. I still have 3 seasons from it thanks to my roommate. :)
Ahh! Real Monsters : last quality cartoon on Nick IMO

My favorites were David and the Gnomes, Salute Your Shorts, GUTS, AYAOTD? and Legends, Secret World of Alex Mack,

The Eureka's Castle theme song is STILL stuck in my head.

I don't know if I ever even WATCHED the show!

8(

the old-skool nick is my generation too, but i swear for the life of me, that i don't know half the shows you listed! 8( the givens, i know: clarissa, you can't do that on tv, salute your shorts, fragglerock, doug, hey dude, ren and stimpy, are you afraid of the dark....but the rest, you got me.

does anyone remember the show, or the name of it.....
it was set in prehistoric times, but the people had been sent there through some kind of time travel
(when the show is coming on you see the peoples car falls into a crack in the ground from an earthquake)
the family lived in a tree, and they had a pet monkey or something

i think youre forgetting double dare.

they were always coming up with new ways to hit people in the face with pies. some of them were pretty brutal too. they would lauch pies directly into peoples faces with catapaults as hard as possible.

hahaha....I can vaguely rememebr most of those.

How about "Just dont sit there" anyone remeber that one w/ the big nick orange couch or someting. It was kinda like a talk show i think.....

man that was a long time ago...Only one i can add that hasnt been mentioned...

Oh and BTW "David the Gnome" f'n rocked!!

Heh. i saw that show one time because it sucked. All i remember is they got gas for their car out of trees.

Half of those shows you listed i've never heard of, the other half I never liked. I did watch doug some though.

Is Secret World of Alex Mack the show with that chick who could turn into liquid because a toxic waste truck spilt on her, or something like that? I liked that one but i don't recall watching it much.

Yo, I remember most of the shows y'all have mentioned. It isn't that I forgot to mention them, its just that I didn't particularly watch them all that often. So, some list I didn't mention but others enjoyed:

Double Dare
Family Double Dare
What Would You Do?
All That
Rugrats
Nick News
Inspector Gadget
Wild and Crazy Kids
Get the Picture (this, should have been mentioned previously.. I love it!)
Finders Keepers
Muppet Babies
Heathcliff (at least I think it was on Nick?)
Sharon Lois and Fran (sometimes called 'The Elephant Show')

General comments on Old Nick:
- Stick Stickly and Face were straight up tools.
- Kid's Help Day or whatever the fuck it was kind of pissed me off.. guilting children into doing community service? I'm guessing 90% of the kids didn't even do an hour's worth of the time they pledged anyway.
- Contest opportunities on Nick were bountiful. The Toys*R*Us Kids run were always fun to enter/ watch the winner.
- Nick Toy products ruled: Gak anyone?

yay gak!

good list of shows. i really didnt think my parents let me watch a lot of t.v. but i remember almost every single one of the shows. there just are no quality shows like these these days. ;)

Fuck all them shows, with the exception of YCDToT. It was all about:
  1. Danger Mouse
  2. Banana Man
  3. Count Duckula
  4. Pinwheel
  5. Mr. Wizard
  6. Belle and Sebastian (yes, it was a cartoon before it became a band name. Link Here)
  7. Today's Special

:D

did anyone notice that every other word from the hosts on wild and crazy kids was "alright!" Seriosly, if you ever see it again you will notice that they say "alright!" hundreds of times in the course of a show.

I mentioned Today's Special smartass. ;) :p

LoL, my bad. I didn't see it. Btw, I'm glad there's others out there just as nostalgic about old-school Nickelodeon as I am. :)

Kudos on bringing up the Little Koala cartoon. That brought back so many childhood memories.

Seriously tho, how could you forget Pinwheel? I loved that show more than Sesame Street and was heartbroken when it went off the air. :(
