Anyone watch this new "reality" TV show? That was the most awful crap I've ever seen in my life. Trailer Park Boys looked more "real" than that pile of junk. Sylvester Staloone has managed to hit a new record low.
 
I didn't see it, but I wanted to so I could see the guy that killed himself after going through the show. That's a little morbid, but what the hell.
 
You guys are all fucked. Seriously.

I watched the premiere of The Contender last night and it was the best reality show episode I've seen in my entire life. I'm not really even into boxing very much, and I was standing up in my living room screaming at the top of my lungs during all 5 rounds of that fight. Watching that little dude beat up on the bigger, better-record-having east coast pro-guy was fucking awesome.

Thursday is the next episode, then I guess they switch to Sunday nights.

I seriously can't wait to watch the next episode.

Thankfully the guy that killed himself wasn't the guy who lost in episode #1. That guy's little girl was the cutest little thing I've ever seen.
 
I just watched the premiere on my Tivo and I have to say I thought it was pretty good. I just loved seeing the little guy come out on top in the fight.
 
This was the first reality show that I have seen that seems to have any real promise or ideals. I think it's awesome.
 
I saw the episode last night. It was ok. The family stories make it seem "more real" than the other reality tv shows, but I was almost bored at times. The fight part was cool. I might only watch that part from now on.
 
I feel so terrible for the families of the loosers. It's ridiculous. It almost brings me to tears to see the wife and kids of the loosers after the dad/husband looses :(

Episode 2 wasn't nearly as exciting as episode 1. And I too wanted ishke to get his yellow shit talkin ass beat by the pretty european dude. I actually don't so much care who wins so long as they fight at some point.

I'm still yet to see the guy that killed himself. I guess him name is "nagai" or something. He's a black male. The only black guy I remember seeing is the guy who got beat last night and ishke's punk ass. They must be purposefuly not showing him?

Hopefully the next few episodes get back to the excitement of episode 1.
Either way, still the best reality show i've ever seen ...
 
i don't remember his name either, just that he's from the philadelphia area and that the producers refused to say how far he got in the show. i'm sure a google news search would turn it up for whoever is a little less lazy than i am.

Dude you have to quit watching Jerry Springer!
 
His name is Najai Turpin. The show producers said they would go on as scheduled with the show and that it didn't need to be overhauled because of the guys death. Gosh, I wish I knew which one he was.
 
I think they showed him in episode #3 for a fleeting second.

Anyone else a little upset that Ishe managed to squeak out a 'W' against babyface? I thought the european dude would have a little more fight in him. The pussy, go figure ;)
