At first I thought little of this BBC sitcom about a PR agency, but after watching a few episodes I find it incredibly clever. It has no qualms casually portraying the morally bankrupt deals made by the PR firm, playing both sides of an issue, destroying people, careers, humiliating whoever doesn't pay enough and having no ethical considerations along the way. Back-stabbing is what they are in the business to do, and nobody is immune, even their colleagues who may be getting ahead of themselves. Everyone is eventually cut down to size, in unimaginably devious ways. The fact that it is so realistic I think makes it so morbidly entertaining.
SOmehow I doubt it being all that popular in North America, UK BLers are probably familiar with this program, as it is a little more relevant to British society- government, the Monarchy etc.
Just interested in where else Absolute Power is shown and how it's perceived, as I realise it's a few years old, and as far as I know only recently started on non-commercial Australian TV.
