after searching the forum and given the fact that this drug is now being handed out like candy on halloween here in the states, i feel like it would only be appropriate to start this. yes i know a lot of people do not like tramadol because it doesn't get them euphoric like oxycodone and hydrocodone do, but there are so many facets to this drug that people may not know about

i myself am currently in a love/hate relationship with tramadol, as it's labeled as a "synthetic opioid". but my love for the drug doesn't revolve around its effectiveness on my opiate receptors, but rather its effectiveness on my serotonin levels. chemically it is very closely related to SNRIs, and rather than taking a few weeks to show results(like all SNRIs do), tramadol works almost instantaneously to alleviate depression and give the consumer energy. i notice that i can retain information easier, i focus better in class, i have a clean house 24/7, i sleep better, and i am in an in a better mood overall. you can compare it to amphetamines, but having ADHD will not stop you from feeling energetic.

of course this comes at a price, as stopping tramadol will produce some very unpleasant withdrawal effects. from my experience it is almost as if i am withdrawing from two different drugs at the same time, opioids(physical withdrawal) and anti-depressants(psychological withdrawal). furthermore, this drug will cause seizures if you aren't careful. most people say anything above 400mg a day is bad, and for someone that has never taken tramadol before that's right. but after a few weeks of continuous use under that dosage you can exceed it without having to worry. of course everyone is different, so obviously you would do this at your own risk. i myself can exceed 600mg a day and be fine. and i've never had a seizure.

so i guess if anyone else has anything to contribute or wants to share their story about this drug, feel free. if you have any questions for me about tramadol, i will be happy to answer them :)

I got hooked on the stuff back when it was "non addictive" (so much bs) and I loved it because it killed opiate withdrawals and like you said acts as an instant anti-depressant ..
so ya, when you kick it, it's brutal. Pain physically but that didnt even compare to the mental agony of having no good neurotransmitter activity in the dome what-so-ever.
I believe people should be able to take whatever they want but what pissed me off was the lack of info and misinformation about this stuff. It's totally addictive and lots of people end up in that love/hate relationship. I use it very sparingly anymore and I don't exceed 300MG. People say staggering it is the way to go but that never worked for me. I popped 6 x 50's to get where I wanted to be for the day. Unfortunately because of my dumbassness I threw that tolerance to the sky and now it's really just good for breaking withdrawals from the CWE I binge on every month . I only take it a few days in a row because I know what'll happen if I keep going.

yeah i can't believe it's actually prescribed for pain, i mean it is literally the weakest script painkiller here in the states but it's handed out by the millions for it. and the fact that it's so weak makes people take more than they should, thereby creating a high tolerance. if it were prescribed for depression rather than pain i guarantee there would be less abuse.

It seems to me that they really tried to hide the seritonin changing aspect of this drug for the longest. They just kept telling everyone that it was a great.alternative to opiods for pain. I'm worried because with the tightening down on opiods I have a feeling that we are going to have a huge rise in trammy addicts. To me the tramadols are more dangerous with the seizure risk.

If you like Tramadol, you'll probably enjoy Tapentadol too.
