I'd like to start a thread regarding Tramadol and its legal status in the US state by state as of this year, 2013.
It has been hard for me to find detailed information about its legal status as some states list list it as a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and others do not and is available by prescription only (Rx)
Let me start. I believe that in New Jersey (NJ), Tramadol is NOT a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and is available by prescription (Rx). Please correct me if I am wrong.
I hope other people can help me research for the state of NJ and all US states as well. Please do be aware that Tramadol does pose a risk of seizures if you take large quantities, are heavily withdrawing (sometimes/rare), and also can interact with multiple medications including Neurontin and Lyrica. Do note as well that research online indicates that about 1% of normal people do experience seizures from Tramadol, though I believe this statistic to be a bit higher as no research has really been done. I have had seizures from Tramadol from medication interactions, the ones listed.
Thanks. I hope that this thread will help people in the long wrong.
