Tramadol Broke my Brain

Frequent panic attacks and other issues secondary to severe magnesium deficiency? Just throwing it out there as a possibility, most certainly can't hurt to try a supplement and see if it helps.

Good idea, but vitamins seem to have had a negligible effect. Based on reading i've done, and panic attacks ive had in the past before all of this started, im thinking that i have been having very small partial seizures (or in some cases mild partial seizures). I used to wonder if this was panic because severe anxiety was attached to the symptoms. Now that I'm used to the symptoms the anxiety isn't there so much unless it gets really bad. Yet the symptoms persist...

Ingested a magnesium supplement about an hour before I had one of my bigger attacks. Vitamins seem to do little and in the case of niacin and possible others only make things worse. Granted, I had also tried to smoke pot at the time I took the magnesium and am sure magnesium on its own would be safe, albeit ineffective. Smoking even small amounts has proven to be a bad idea... I've easily turned my back on every drug including alcohol and caffeine, but pot I just can't let go. Withdrawals (yes, weed has withdrawals) made the shocks and electric 'oh joy here comes a seizure' feeling worse so I went out and picked up 'harlequin strain' (20% cbd, low thc) just to satisfy my cravings while I can't handle thc. Has actually helped a great deal... Reduced symptoms (save for light sensitivity, which increases) with the CBD weed, which im sure is due to the anticonvulsant and inhibitory effects. I plan on weaning down with this strain and then taking a 1 month break from all substances, even benadryl or chamomille type shit. Based on reading I was doing weed withdrawal can actually induce seizures in the seizure prone so I'll admit I got a little scared.

I'd definitely go and see a neurologist. There is high chances you'll be a scripted a couple meds, one including the more "neurological" benzos (low dose clonazepam also Clobazam (Frisium). First time I saw a neurologist due to a really bad DOB trip that left me burnt out for 4-5 years (if my older posts hadn't been purged you could have read about my story more in detail. I thought they LSD hits obviously....only time I used a different source for LSD and I got BURNT. I thought it was never going to end. A year and a half on 1mg of clonazepam a day and 6 months of Topamax (it has funky side effects but will clear you of any seizure dangers and other mood effects) and I was recovered 90%, clonazepam is amazing for HPPD is all I gotta say, the entry on wikipedia about it isn't lying.

Now I have a script for Clobazam, because after that year and half of clonies, I asked my doc for a not as strong benzo that still works good for people like us with weird brains ;) and I like it, it's not a hugely recreational benzo, still better than oxazepam anyway, and it helps with overall anxiety I've been torn with since childhood (the huge reaction to the 5 hits of DOB is sure to have a relation to it)...although....friends had even just 1 of those DOB hits back in 2002 and really didn't like feeling observed by peripheral vision entities and paranoia for 30 hours+

That's odd.

Tramadol is kind of odd in itself tho.
I seem to get more side effects and worse withdrawal from tramadol than other more typical opioids.

I once took about 5 trams(low dose for me) and later had about 2mg of suboxone.

Not long after dosing the sub I got really shakey and shiverig.

Thought I was going to have a seizure, but I was probably just cold lol.
Once I took a xanax and got under the covers I was all better, though worried as hell lol....

I walked back to the ER in the middle of the night in the middle of a snowstorm to change this Tramacet (doesn't come as any other form here) I was scripted at the same ER a couple days prior because it was making me feel so shitty, had them changed to empracets (codeine 30/tylenol 300mg) and I couldn't have been happier. Well, kinda, I had quite the embarrassing pain problem, but it didn't prevent from having this nightly snowstorm 30 mins walk to get rid of the icky feeling tramadol produced on me.

Listen to me, tramadol might feel like a decent little drug while you are taking it BUT...

Tramadol withdrawal is known to be much worse and long-lasting than other painkillers.
Doctors don't know everything, but research protracted w/d from tram and you will hear some docs sayings its the most life-threatening.
And yes, you took doses high enough to cause serotonin syndrome, esp if these were on consecutive days.

I had a life-threatening SS event 3 years ago from MDMA.
You are going to be FINE but it might take months to recover.

DO NOT DRINK.
Alcohol kills brain proteins that grow new nerve cells.
DO NOT SMOKE.
Cannabis releases serotonin which can cause SEVERE anxiety and then serotonin drops afterwards. NOT GOOD.

Exercise and time are your only friends.
Working out releases a serotonin growth factor known as BDNF.

The chest pain and tachycardia, cold sweats, problems sleeping...
These are all serotonin related.

Serotonin controls the digestive tract, and has a powerful influence on brain function.
It can rewire but does not happen quickly.
If you have been a serotonin abuser with other drugs this could explain your reaction to trams.
MDMA, mushrooms, lsd...these can all alter your serotonin network and invite problems with serotonin releasing agenst like tramadol.

Why 200 mg anyways.
75 - 100 used to get me buzzed for hours...

I have a naturally high opiate tolerance (30mg hydro and its a mild buzz)... Also other threads had led me to believe it had very minor/negligile effects on serotonin. Wrong.

Thank you so much for the reply. I was wondering if you had ever recovered from your experiences with SS. Are you able to drink/smoke with worry? Swear to go those are the only drugs ill touch again. This was a wakeup call, albeit an agonizing and terrifying one.

Another question i had... Would you or anyone be able to explain why seemingly minor things like zicam (zinc) and stool sftener caused a return of mild symptoms? Even aspartame/diet coke brought on 'the fear' for an30 mins.

Be careful how most chop it all to one thing as causing an illness...

You just need to thoroughly be checked out.

If you haven't killed over by now it is highly unlikely you ever will now.

This can't possibly help you as we can't feel what you are going through.
