Benzos Tolerant to benzos- worried about "Going Under" with Midazolam (Versed)

So I've got a tolerance to some valliums like 30mg a day and Ive also been taking 60mg of morphine (MS Contin twice a day) and some percocet 10mg here or there.

I'm supposed to get a procedure done and they said they used Versed and some pain killer.

I'm worried about what my tolerance to benzos will do to that.
That last thing I want is to be even somewhat conscious of this procedure since it won't be pleasant to say the least...

They know about my use of the vallium, but I don't think they get it that I'm completely TOLERANT to it so I hope they don't misjudge it or anything. Also, does the opiates matter at all in the whole thing?

I mean, they know about it since I'm on PM and stuff but I'm wondering if they will lower to amoutn EVEN LOWER since they will see I'm taking Vallium AND morphine and that will leave me way too awake for the procedure, in that sort of paralysis where you can't say that you're awake but you are.

They told me there wouldn't be an anesthesiologist in the room for my procedure which worries me since that seems like the best person to sort of "monitor" this kind of thing.

How should I go about this and what should I expect? It's IV Versed and nothing else like I said. I'm supposedly allowed to take my MS Contin in the morning of the procedure and even an Klonipin that I have for anxiety attacks which I'm thinking I might take because this shit is stressing me out to no end...

Any help would be greatl;y appreciated.

sure sucks they won't have an anesthesiologist there...

can you not take the morphine that day? if so i wouldn't take it, it shouldn't be good on top of the benzos. then if you arer clear of the morphine try to talk the nurse into giving you a higher dose of midazolam and you should be fine. even if they gave you a higher than necessary midazolam shot you wouldn't die, as benzos don't usually cause significant respiratory depression

of course, assuming they aren't mixed with other CNS depressants such as, well, morphine... well good luck bro

ketamine would come in handy...

they will hook you up to a machine that monitors your pulse rate and blood oxygen saturation (clips on your finger) and blood pressure etc with a cuff, before you get the IV midazolam. don't worry. they'll be able to handle you.

doctors are trained to deal with iv benzo sedation even in the presence of other benzos being taken. don't worry. they are professionals who know how to do their job.

You are right about that because they did have a pulse monitor that also measured my oxygen levels in my blood and had a blood pressure cuff that they inflated before each and every time they would give me more meds (they would say "F" [fentanyl] or "V [Versed]" to tell the nurse to give me more).

Sorry though, they didn't really know how to handle the situation though, here's what happened.

I went in somewhat anxious (5/10), got situated, they gave me 1 dose of "V"and "F" and I was still anxious and felt like nothing had happened, and they gave me one injection of local anaethesia which burned like hell.

I cringed, in pain and was still anxious getting closer to a panic attack. They gave me some oxygen plugs for my nose and told me to try to close my eyes and relax (yeah right...).
Anyways, then they gave me another "V" and that relaxed me somewhat (which was noticeable, but only bringing the anxiety down from a 9 to an 8 8(eight) then they gave me another local which burned like hell, and so they gave me another "F". Again, the 2nd dose was the the first time that I felt any noticeable effect.

Then I got a panic attack, started shaking and they game me another V and F and I felt it more, though still had a panic attack and was shaking like a leaf so they gave me another V and F. Only then did I feel signifiant effect (FINALLY!), though I still felt the next local burn and was still anxious (though I went from a panic attack to a n anxietyu of like 6-7).

So they gave me another V and that was finally what ended up bringing the panic attack under control (pain of actual steroidf injection was 5/10 and anxiety was 5/10)
The IV stuff they gave me didn't hit me at all like other IV drugs I've gotten where I feel an immediate effect very strong effect but maybe it's because they did it slowly...?

I felt every single thing, had a panic attack in the middle of the operation, so you can basically say that they weren't exactly the best.

I'm not a doctor basher by any means but I told them the meds I was on and they obviously took the safe approach, but it took me having three painful injections of stuff and a panic attack to get me enough meds that I was somewhat comfortable though basically 'baseline' (as if I would be on a normal day).

Basically, I wasn't sedated at all and certainly didn't fall asleep and remember every single thing that happened.
Not good at all.

At the end of all the injections, I ended up getting a total of 4mg of Midazolam over the course of the operation and 200mcg of Fenatnyl and was able to think clearly, feel some opioid effects (fuzzy head) but was able to walk out of the place like nothing was given to me...

They told me I can take all my meds which I did, (a 30mg MS Contin, a Soma and a Perc in addition to my normal 5 or 7 mg valium in the morning). So I took it all, plus an Klonopin around 5hrs before the procedure because I had a panic attack awaiting the procedure...

I described the whole operation above, but yeah, it wasn't good.

I ended up getting a total of 4mg of Midazolam over the course of the operation and 200mcg of Fenatnyl and while I felt some relief at the end of it all, they should have started off with that and I think that things would have gone a lot smoother.

I'm curious about those who use fentanyl since I have no experience with it. Can anyone tell me how much 200mcg of Fentanyl is in relation to other things (keeping in mind I take 60mg of Morphine a day and around 20-30mg oxycodone each day too). Does 200mcg seem like a reasonable amount for someone that has a moderate tolerance to the above doses of opioids?
