Has anybody noticed this? I was first prescribed 25mg's Seroquel a night to sleep, and it worked wonders. But eventually that no longer affected me and I needed 50mg's, and then 100mg's. Now I've reached the point that I can take 5mg's of Haldol (haloperidol) during the day and still remain awake and alert. What gives? I didn't think you could get tolerant to anti-psychs - typical or atypical. And I know my meth abuse isn't affecting it, cos the same thing happens on days that I'm not using.

Yes this happened to me with olanzepine, tolerance happens with all drugs. However one night I decided to take 40mg of olanzepine and I slept for 21 hours!

I developed a brief tolerance to trifluoperazine whilst I was using it for sleep. I wasn't using it for anti-psychotic purposes though so no idea if a tolerance to those effects can develop.

On a side-note, don't ever try to overdose on that shit. The akathisia afterwards is unbearable.

OD sure has changed since I was last here...

You will get a tolerance to any drug that has a sedative effect. The thing is with Antipsychotics is that increasing the dose is sometimes a dangerous thing to do (as Mr. Blonde has pointed out).

p.s. Welcome back Blondey :) Nice to see you return. Where've you been?
