Tolerance / resistance to... everything?

Hey all...

I'm very curious about if it's possible to just... well, be tolerant/resistant to most recreational and/or prescription drugs, without even taking them for very long to build a tolerance, or even at all. I feel I've been bizarre in this fashion.

Examples:

  • Built a complete tolerance to Dexedrine within 3 weeks. Started at 5mg, which I felt day one, couldn't feel 60mg within 3 weeks.
  • Same as the above with Ritalin.
  • Couldn't feel MDMA after only 2-3 uses over a 2 month period. Waiting a full 2 months and trying pure MDMA could only produce a minor effect.
  • Tried cocaine for the first time a couple weeks ago and felt nothing at all from it.
  • Several days later, tried cocaine again, this time with three sizable lines within a few minutes, and again felt no change.

I've just never really heard of this, and it kind of concerns me. Not necessarily because I can't do coke or whatever, but more about the fear of something not working that I've been prescribed or need.

Yes, there are people immune to getting high out there. This could be a blessing in disguise. My question is if you have pain & take a perc or vicodin, does the pain go away w/o you getting high?

I've definitely considered that.

I've never felt high from a painkiller, and this includes when I was on those types of heavy-duty painkillers after a surgery.

You just didn't like cocaine, not everybody does. And as for the Dexedrine and Ritalin, tolerance can easily build that fast. MDMA sometimes you need to wait 3-4 months.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I know there's many who don't like cocaine, but I just would've expected a negative reaction or something, rather than none at all.

You may very well be one of those who is immune to narcotics in general.

As much as it might be annoying if you want the experience, it is damn sure a blessing IMO.

You don't want to ever end up where I am. If I had been immune my life would be a lot better for it.

All the ones you listed are psychostimulants so perhaps you are naturally insensitive to them. As far as not feeling "high" from prescribed doses of opiate painkillers, the feeling might have been too subtle or different than what you might expect for you to have enjoyed them in full. Some are naturally insensitive to opiates, too, but all of the ones you originally listed were stimulants. Tolerance does climb rapidly with those naturally, but perhaps with you even more so. I doubt you are somehow insensitive to all drugs.

I think you can be immune to drugs sometimes. Metabolisim plays into it. For some reason with me, I always have to increase the dose of pain killers, benzos and sleeping pills or I feel nothing. However, stimulants seem to work for me always at theraputic doses. Cocaine never did crap for me. Idk why but that's me. Experiment I guess somethings hit harder than others

It it definitely possible to have a high natural tolerance to getting high. I don't think you have tried enough substances to say that you are immune to all drugs. The cocaine could have been garbage, which most coke is now a days. Same with MDMA, and tolerance to stimulants builds fucking fast. As for pain killers, taking the normal prescribed dose after surgery surely isn't enough to give a decent high, especially if you are in pain. sometimes it even takes a few times before you really start to feel and appreciate the effects of certain substances.

Do you have experience with weed? Or hallucinogens?

On the other hand, i would have to agree that it may be a blessing in disguise if you are for some reason cannot get high on these highly addictive substances. Avoiding severe opiate or stimulant addiction is much preferable in the long run. Sure, at the time you may feel like you are missing out on good times with your friends and shit, but if you can spare yourself the pain and misfortune of drug abuse that will come down the line, you are better off.
