yeah I'm gonna watch this one, should be a good laugh, Today Tonight is quite honestly one of the worst current affairs shows in the world IMO. It is complete and utter trash, I have serious doubts as to whether any of them ever even studied journalism.

lol...yeah If only that was true at about 2am when you realise you need more because the ones you had haven't really taken you very far. Some dude trying off load a bunch on the corner would be great lol

In their fucking dreams.

umm...

I think you guys are really missing the point? how many of you scout around melbourne rave areas at night on a weekend? it's like a drug supermarket. I'm not surprised by their findings in the slightest

at a rave party of course you can score anything sheeesh

but what about at the train stations or similar ..

today tonight always hype things up worse than they are ..

they are trying to say E is being sold like the old 90's heroin days ...on every street corner etc.

:X :X :X
These shows (ACA and Today Tonight) make me so fucking angry. They are complete and utter shit... they are nothing close to journalism, both in content and practice. These two shows sledge each other back and forth on air as if one is better than the other. They will play advertising games and run the same stories. But that's not the worse part... the worse part is these shows are dumbing people down to a level which ... argghhh! ... makes me so pissed off! They don't even run fresh footage 90% of the time, they just decide to run their monthly story which is just rehashed from stock footage and edited with a totally one-sided view of reporting, and most of the time they don't even allow the attacked a chance to defend their supposed actions. If I see the following stories advertised again on ACA or TT, I may lose the plot:
What's really in chicken nuggets, the new diet which you can do without dieting, the dirty trick council/bank/real estate doesn't want you to know, live a luxury life by winning competitions, teenagers smoke dop in high school, illegal drug use (every kind of drug) is epidemic in your suburb.... the list goes on.
I know what you're thinking, a totally irrational rage to these shows... Well that may be true, but there's something about these shows which just.... :X

Don't get angry. We are your friends here, and we know it's bullshit. Just laugh at it dude :)

I'd laugh at it if people like my dad didn't believe it word for word half the time.

ok after watching the show they just showed police at an day event with sniffer dogs busting people with pills and weed etc looked like really old footage as well as the coppers had the old 6 shooters not glocks.

then they had a so called specialist showing scans of a normal brain thats never had mdma then a brain that has had 1 pill and no dopamine/serotonin left and 7 years later same brain but no real incraese in dopamine/serotonin levels.

So does that mean Im suicidal ?? I know 2 days after having a pill im gonna feel like shit but thats to be expected or the fact ive had like 300+ pills over a 7 year period & sometimes even when was silly 20 or moreover weekend that my brain will never get this back ... OMG hahahahah what a total load of scare mongering bullshit. Yes sure some people who already have mental problems may be affected badly but I would think Ice addicts would be worse off than us pill poppers.

Im still mentally fine and I still am A happy person and when something good happens i feel great .. like when you hear really good news or you have a big win on the horses and you get that natural high.

I cant believe the bullshit they spin to scare the hell out of people ... what a great fucking joke channel 7's today tnoight show is.

lol @ them showing the kids being busted..

They show one thing with two empty bags, and plunger and a bottle of what was obviously 1,4-b :p

It was [that party last weekend] in Melbourne, but not sure if it was this year or last. The cops in Melbourne mainly still use the old 6 shooters (unless TRG iirc)

[EDIT: No event names thanks. hoptis]

I'm pretty sure Vic Police haven't moved to Glocks yet though the police union are certainly pushing for it. If the clip was from the party last weekend, I ran into quite a few people inside who were a bit freaked out by police using the dogs at the entrance. Heard of quite a few people getting busted.

The ecstasy problem
Reporter: Clare Brady
Broadcast Date: October 02, 2007

It is commonplace in nightclubs and despite the knowledge of ecstasy's affect on the brain, it has become widely used.

It causes the brain to flood with the naturally occurring feeling of having a short-lived high.

Professor Jon Currie has tracked the effects of ecstasy.

"This drug can be very, very dangerous," he said.

"It's usually three days afterwards and it's an almighty crash where the person has been out partying, had little sleep and by 48 hours later they're feeling flat.

"You actually may get so severely depressed that you can't control yourself and may commit suicide particularly if you are a somewhat depressed person already."

Neurologist Professor Jeffrey Rosenfeld volunteers at young people's events and treats the tragic results of the drug on-the-spot.

"Not only causes high blood pressure, it then bursts blood vessels in the brain and can cause a haemorrhage in the brain and causes a stroke," he said.

Today Tonight

Now just waiting for the video to be put up.

The whole thing was a pile of shit, however there was one thing in particular that annoyed me. Those brain scans they showed, one before using ecstasy, one two days after and one 7 years after - they implied those were the result of using ecstasy once: bullshit.

They also said at the event in question alcohol wasn't sold, not true.

This wont happen in Chicago! All the hot spots have blue lights on every corner in the hood where the drugs are sold.

This is a prime example of why everyone should watch ABC and SBS.

Especially The Chaser's War on Everything.

And UP YOURS ANNA COREN, YOU WHORE!
