Tips for Benzo taper

This wont work sorry. GHB/GBL work on the GABA B receptors while benzo's work on the GABA A receptors. While in high doses they will also work on the GABA A receptors... Eh... You don't want to be hitting those doses.

This is also why GHB/GBL and Benzo's are not cross tolerant.

I thought, in fact had checked that this was the case so why so they use Benzos for alcohol withdrawal and GHB has been tried for the same?

Well alcohol effects the GABA A receptors so benzo's and alcohol can be substituted for each other.

I am not sure why they would use GHB in alcohol withdrawal... I thought it was only used for narcolepsy etc.

Avoid caffeine and any other stimulants. Antihistamines can help with sleep.

You may want to purchase a pill cutter if you don't have one. Although they are not completely necessary, they may come in handy when you get to the lower doses.

With whatever schedule you come up with, if you are dosing in the morning, I suggest saving 1/4 of that dose for the evening, and only taking it if you cannot sleep, and have already tried other supplements. It's pretty obvious though when you know that you will in fact need to dose a benzo in order to get any sleep, as benzo withdrawal has a lovely way of saying hello.

After a few days on a lower dose, I was usually able to at least alternate days of taking an even lower dose, and then returning to the other dose. It wasn't a set back because I had just been lowered down, so the lower dose was even lower than that of the initial lowered dose, if that makes any sense. I used to alternate, then stabilize at the even lower dose for a week or so, and then alternate taking an even lower dose, and repeat. The long half-life helps with this, plus if you have that 1/4 of the dose saved for the night time, then you can take it if needed, and like I said, it's not really a set-back if you are ahead of schedule.

So did I til I read the wikipedia site on it, haha.. also used to treat depression and is neuroprotective. I did not know that. Would be time to get some more except.. yeah, GBL addiction wouldn't be a great start to the year.

I'm confused about the whole GABA-A and GABA-B thing because things do seem to be cross tolerant that shouldn't be and used in withdrawals when you wouldn't think it would work etc. *Gets sparkly new psychopharm book out*

Sorry to hear about you and the missus atm :( pm from me is forthcoming, promise.

Tommyboy's plan sounds like a good one.. although diaz has a long half life, having the opportunity of a diazepam plasma spike before bed could help a lot when you can't sleep. And I think the slower you do this the better tbh as long as you don't stabilise then let it creep back up - better to take your time over it and do it properly than rush it and risk it going wrong.. but I know you know this. You're going to be fine you know <3

Isnt that what they put in Red Bull amongst Caffeine and other shite ?

Wiki:

According to animal studies, taurine produces anxiolytic effect and may act as a modulator or antianxiety agent in the central nervous system by activating the glycine receptor.[45][46][47]

A review published in 2008 found no documented reports of negative or positive health effects associated with the amount of taurine used in energy drinks, concluding that "The amounts of guarana, taurine, and ginseng found in popular energy drinks are far below the amounts expected to deliver either therapeutic benefits or adverse events".[16]

There is also evidence that taurine is beneficial for adult human blood pressure and possibly, the alleviation of other cardiovascular ailments (in humans suffering essential hypertension, taurine supplementation resulted in measurable decreases in blood pressure).

^^ it's cellular action is similar to that of a diuretic
