Mental Health Those dreamy flashbacks I get from taking Klonopin right as I wake up

They don't always happen, and I don't know if I'm the only one getting those but today's flashbacks are quite heavy...

In the dream, I accidentally shoot and kill a kid while I try to murder someone else.
I can seriously feel the same level of guilt I had in the dream, shooting a kid and the intended murder of a person.

Woke up mentally fucked and you can pretty much understand where I went from there....

I'm not sure about klonopin because I've never had it, but I often have very vivid dreams, after which I will still feel the emotions for the rest of the day. Mostly mine are about getting heartbroken (my partner leaving me or cheating on me), or losing a loved one. So I understand what you mean about feeling the guilt you felt in the dream even after you woke up.

Is this a recurring dream that you have often? Or does it change?
 
This one isn't recurring, it's the first time I had it, the person I intended to murder was a loved one.

1 recurring dream I had was about my whole area getting blown to hell with an atomic bomb, it always happens when I'm in the shower and everyone who does not shut their eyes before the impact dies.

By the way, do you take any drugs right as you wake up or not long after? this interests me
 
The only drugs I take before bed are sleep-aides e.g. doxylamine, or quetiapine, or very occasionally valium or xanax.
Then in the morning I have my Cymbalta as soon as I wake up. Why do you ask? :)
 
Just want to know if I am delaying myself from getting energized and awake even more by taking the K, if it truly is the cause for the day-nightmares... I'd felt like shit for maybe 4 or 6 hours until I could finally bring myself to eat something... about to go to sleep now...

AND YOU BETTER BEHAVE.... sorry, that was directed at my mazochistic brain
 
Well sure, you could definitely be making yourself drowsy in the morning even when you take it at night, because klonopin has a really long half-life. It's reported to be anywhere from 20-50 hours, on average 30 hours, which means that the dose you take at night takes more than an entire DAY to metabolise by half. Therefore it's still going to be having a reasonably good effect when you wake up 8-10 hours later.

What have you been prescribed klonopin for?
