thin layer of tape on block of hash

So the other day I bought a roughly 3 inches long 'bar' of hash. It was wrapped in cling film but then, there was a layer of something else over it. At the time I was pretty drunk and generally desperate to smoke up so I made a half arsed effort to remove it, held a lighter to the hash, crumbled off a small bit and then further ground that down and smoked up (and it worked a treat). But I am currently examining it and there is a thin layer of what I think it tape which I am seriously struggling to remove. I would imagine that when I next smoke up and I again hold a flame to it to soften it up and break a bit off, I will burn the majority of that tape at that point and tape vapour is never going to reach my lungs but any thoughts on the topic would be appreciated
 
Your in the UK, you got soap bar mate. I'd throw it out, that bit of tape is the least of your worries with that shit..

I don't think I've got the dreaded soap bar (although I could be wrong) because this particular dealer (I didn't just get this off a randomer but a trusted dealer) does top quality bud. I don't really know much about hash so I could be wrong.
 
probably slate...which generally has a higher THC content than most other forms of soapbar - BUT it's poo.

IPA extraction would be good...or the bin - you should NEVER have to use a lighter on hash, just the warmth of your palm in a clenched fist for like 5 mins max should make it malleable enough if it's good shit.
 
I mean dissolve the hash in 99% isopropyl alc.

filter it through a screen that will catch the tape

evaporate the alcohol

collect the hash, now free of tape.

how do you suppose this works?
it wont filter fuck all. you're still smoking plastic and camel shit.

you CAN however "wash" your shitty hash..
break it into pieces as small as you can get, use a microwave and scissors if you need to.
place em in a jug and fill it with boiled water, stir it until everything is dissolved.
you will notice a horrid colour to the water-
DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES!!!
leave the mix to sit for a minute or two after your stirring/dissolving,
until a lighter sand-mud like layer is settled at the bottom.
pour away the putrid black death juice, being careful to not pour out any of your cleaned sand-mud hash.

fill the jug with more boiled water, keep repeating this until the water after stirring etc is as clear as itll get.
to be extra stringent you can filter it all through coffee filters.


CONGRATULATIONS!
you have successfully cleaned your soapbar of most of its impurities.
some will remain but its negligable.
 
^ The only problem with that is the finished result is incredibly harsh to smoke (even moreso than normal soapbar) and doing it will make your house smell like death!

its mixed with fuckin anything.
seriously- samples have been found to contain animal faeces, melted vinyl, used engine oil,
scrapings from the insides of car exhausts, straw/hay, plastic, rubber, the list goes on.

if it can be melted down or ground into a powder and mixed in to bulk it up, they'll add it.
usually happens like this-
100kg ground up in a skip (very large dumpster type thing to you. they have them at "construction" sites),
and 100kg of filler ground up n mixed in.
the end product is heated, pressed, and reshaped into "bars" of hash.
(9 ounces to a bar, 4 bars to a key)

if you want to smoke real hash in the UK, you'll need a GOOD connection, know a grower, or make your own.
otherwise you will be seeing a FUCKTON of this pap in your lifetime.
street hash used to be decent. about 6 years ago back when i started smoking, sure it was crap,
but NOWHERE near as bad as it is now.

consider yourself lucky, my yankee friend- for you will most likely never come across this vile shit in your life.
 
For your health I would advise purifying it... but I bet you will be disappointed by the amount you are left with.

not really true dude.

Alot of very high grade hashes do need to be crumbled.

Alot of imported hash will also often have some sort of plastic seal on the outside of the bar.

I personally wouldn't bother doing a purification. If you have really nasty soapbar then it will taste & smell like shit, and not give you a proper high. If it burns clean then don't worry.

having a lighter flame applied for a good 10+ seconds and then pinched and crumbled between fingers.

ie soapbar.

i didnt mean; burned OR crumbled.
so i stick by what i said- real hash NEVER needs to be burned and crumbled.

yes, some hashes etc do need to be crushed/crumbled. but not set alight before so.
 
I'm glad we're in agreement lol. A truly fine hash just needs to be kissed with a flame for a second and be ready to smoke. And if you're really, really lucky, it'll bubble like mad...
 
^Taking a flame to decent hash is sacrilege imo. Any decent resin will soften enough in the palm of the hand. The piece I'm smoking just crumbles to dust when pressed between the forefinger and thumb. All the hash I smoked recently in Amsterdam and Copenhagen could be picked apart with the nails (even outside in Copenhagen, where it's pretty cold in case you didn't know).

I'm not 100% sure about the purification process with boiling water tbh. It's not going to remove anything that's not water soluble, like the plastic that soap is often adulterated with.
