THEY ARE REPLACING OUR ADHD MEDICATIONS WITH ANTIDEPRESSANTS WTF!?!?

So I qualified to a study based on people who have ADHD and I was filling out the paper work and waiting for my name to be called and I finally got called. They gave my a cup to pee in and I asked them what kind of medication they were going to put me on because who wouldn’t wanna know and they basically told me it was a new medication that hasn’t been out yet and it’s in the works and they said it was NOT stimulant based but instead it was an antidepressant. I thanked them, and told them that I was going to opt out of the study and they let me go. I thanked them again and walked out.

I don’t know what the fuck is happening in the world and why doctors are so quick to get rid of opiates that worked wonders and now being harsh on stimulant based medications. Plan and simple.. Ritalin fucking works, Dexedrine fucking works, Vyvanse, Desoxyn, Adderral.. those are proven fucking drugs. If you wanna blame the addiction problem then fuck you. Not everyone gets addicted.. and the ones that do.. well.. it’s unfortunate but you know what let them sleep it off in their room for 7-10 days and then give them things to do after to occupy their time like learning how to play an instrument, learning how to speak a foreign language, drawing/painting to bring out their creative side, writing, hiking, boxing to get out their aggression.

I’m sorry but in my opinion antidepressants are fucking garbage.. and I don’t know how anyone with ADHD is supposed to benefit from these drugs but all that did for me was wreck havoc on my hormones and it’s the reason why I have been on testosterone replacement therapy. It’s no surprise why most meth addicts turn out to have ADHD. Some people use it to get high.. and others like myself who had used meth in the past used it because it helped me focus on my everyday to do list. I barely used it for the recreational purposes. Once in a blue moon in higher doses for pleasure but for the most part it was to wind my ass down and get me to work on time and keep me from getting distracted.. but the whole system is failing and this whole world is going to shit. For those of you who are still getting your prescriptions.. count yourselves the lucky ones because I don’t know what the fuck California is doing but it’s going to shit and I can’t take it anymore.
 
Nobody held a gun to your head and forced you to take a study like that, besides the entire reason they are trying it is to see if the drug works. I'm not sure where you get the idea they're doing it as some sort of reason to get rid of older drugs that work, maybe they are looking for an alternative for people who cannot take amphatemines or methylphenidate due to past issues with abuse or whatever.

"Antidepressants" are a very broad category of drugs and can be anything, really, Wellbutrin/buproprion is an "antidepressant" but it is also a stimulant NDRI cathinone for instance. Some of the tricyclic antidepressants also have stimulating/euphoric actions too.

What drug was it, did they say?

Well there was two nurses there. One of them said Straterra and the other one cut her off and informed her that Straterra wasn't being used and that they weren't going to tell the people who are doing the study what the drug was till after we give them the pee test and fill out the paperwork. I guess the Straterra is a non stimulant drug for ADHD but that second nurse who was arguing with her colleague kept telling her about how Straterra leads to suicidal thoughts in some people, and she said it can cause seizures and liver damage. I don't know.. this was just what I experienced. And the main guy there was talking to the nurses saying how they are trying to get rid of amphetamine based drugs because everyone is going crazy on them. I'm just annoyed with people that's all. Drugs are tools. If you are an adult you should be allowed to take any drug that you want and whatever happens to you happens to you. If you die.. oh well.. that's life. Life is a risk. You'll have to excuse my DONT.. GIVE.. A FUCK.. attitude! You have a nice night!
 
I'm not sure why you think they're being 'replaced', as there's no evidence for that. It's standard practice in the UK to begin ADHD patients on atomoxetine (or even bupropion). If that doesn't work, then they try other meds. Seems like a reasonable, cautious strategy.

That’s what the nurses were yapping about at the study. Maybe doctors and nurses here in San Diego think there’s too many speed freaks. I for one don’t see it that way and wish we did have more because maybe people would actually wake the fuck up and pay better attention to the road!!

The US does have a reputation for handing out prescription stimulants very casually on the flimsiest of bases like they're candy. It's not something most doctors in other countries do, arguably for some very good reasons. So I dunno mate. Plus you've had a lot of trouble with meth in the past. Don't you think it would be better if they could find something thats not a potent stimulant to help you or others, or at least to try and find out if it does?

I think that if the cartel hadn’t gotten their dirty little hands on it I would still be self medicating today. Just kidding. Yes I agree with you I think it would be a blessing if we could all find better ways to cope with our problems, health conditions without having to be on medication. I think them arguing with each other loud enough for all of us to hear them talking about the medication being an antidepressant just hit a nerve and I have resentment for my primary doctor who put me on antidepressants because if it hadn’t been for that I probably wouldn’t of had to start TRT at the early age of 30 but it’s not something I regret although weekly injections can be a pain in the ass or in my case quads lmaooo but I’ll try to limit myself from bitching or being too negative about life in general. Been sober a year now.. I thought by now I’d be more optimistic about things but I guess that’s not the case with me.

I think there is a middle ground between meth and mind numbing, shitty, complacency producing psychiatric drugs.
I personally like psychedelics and cannabis. Those aren't really for everyone.
People want different things out of life and out of substance use.

I dunno man.

The fact I can legally kill myself with cheap liquor or shitty bottom shelf wine without anyone batting an eye, but somehow the arguable less toxic and more functional drugs like speed and opium derivatives get flak left and right is down to culture and slow to change attitudes for a lot of people regarding what drugs are acceptable to be "regular use" type things.

Fuck man, only recently have people stopped thinking of weed as a "CRAZY ASS DRUG."

True.. I mean I don't think anyone should see drug use as a matter of right or wrong. Drugs are tools. A lot of them are powerful and should be used with caution. But I think a lot of these doctors in California wanna put all the blame on Methamphetamine because of the few dozen tweakers that commit crimes but what about the ones that function like normal human beings because their ADHD is in check? And yeah alcohol is very legal and how many times do we see or hear on the news about how some fuck head who was drunk crashes and ends up hurting and sometimes killing a civilian or a family yet that piece of shit drunk fuck walks away with no scratches but just a DUI as a reminder to not do it again but they usually do cuz why not. It’s legal and you can buy it over the counter.
Our minds are not yet developed enough to fully utilize them to their full potential but some of us can meditate properly so shit I would be happy with my prescription Desoxyn and some GHB for my sleep apnea and I’ll be good to go. Guranfuckintee you I won’t commit any crimes or be an unlawful citizen because those drugs won’t effect me negatively unless I chose to let them. It’s people who have fucked this up for the rest of us.. and those bastards need to die already!

Dexedrine fucking works when I was living upstate Ny there were no anal doctors it seems. I more so seems if you have good insurance I think the more likely you will get the drug that works but you pay for the doctor. Clinics are hell. You better in one of those with your prescription list from the pharmacy before they start meddling away. Strattera is a SSRI. This meaning May cause Serotonin storm. Look at what SSRI is a non-acronym form. Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor. Serotonin is mostly for Mood contributor to feelings of well-being and happiness. LIES Happiness comes from being able to fucking concentrate. Thatr comes for Dopamine the HAPPY well bing life is a great feeling. Serotonin doesn't help ADHD focus and An inability to experience pleasure from activities usually found enjoyable. Thats called anhedonia when you lose the ability to enjoy anything its lack of ant pleasure of things you enjoy doing. This is bad. I hate that feeling.

Well they aren't euphoric like stimulants can be (maybe some hypomania in some patients though). But there's a reason that they're used as a first-line against depression. They're generally safe and effective.

No, strattera is an NRI, and a DRI in the neocortex.
 
Amphetamines will always be the better choice for ADHD because it does help with focus. And there is always Ritalin/Methylphenidate/Focalin that are stimulant based that work similarly to amphetamines but mildly and as for Straterra.. it personally was garbage for me. And same goes for anti depressants. I think unless you are truly depressed.. one shouldn’t be on it but I have a problem with the doctors who I’ve personally dealt with that wanna prescribe them like candy but forbid trying to help me find a solution to my ADHD and are anti-stimulants.. get the fuck out of here with your bullshit! And they wonder why I self medicate 🤨
 
Strattera is not a SSRI, it is a norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor, that does have stimulant properties similar to amphetamine but much less abusable (way less dopamine release). In fact, the major effect of amphetamine and many cathinones is the release of norepinephrine. And norepinephrine release is required for the pleasurable effects of MDMA - when blocked with a NRI it is not a stimulant.

So, it's not a total garbage drug, it is based on evidence. And it's not an antidepressant.

My advice is, watch the dosage, I beilieve I took 80mg of it once and I got very, very ill. I think a better dosage to start on is 10mg.
 
Well, you agreed to be in the study. I wouldn't. But unfortunately, I suspect that "studies" may take place all the time for some people unbeknownst to them. Some much worse than this, if they feel like they can get away with it. Fuck knows what really goes on behind the scenes. I wouldn't be surprised if this latest pandemic was caused by a "study" that they gave to some people, kind of like they did with the Tuskegee Syphillis experiment. And then comes covid-19, right out of fucking nowhere.

So, yeah I agree there are lots of so called "studies" going on that are completely fucked up. The global elite just see us as a bunch of lab rats honestly. But you did agree to be in this one. So, you were a voluntary guinea pig unfortunately for you. I'd be fucking pissed too if they swapped out my Adderall with some other drug, but I would not agree to take part in such a "study" either lol. Good you opted out of the study. Unless it paid well, you were wasting your time. But at the same time, can't really complain since you did agree to it for the time.
