Alcohol 'There's more coke than drink in Irish pubs' how true is this?

My friend said that he was frequenting a few pubs in Dublin before lockdown 2019 (Diceys and Copper Face Jack's mainly) and how cocaine is now used in the jacks more than alcohol itself. Apparently it's because the high is more intense but also because of its aphrodisiac effects.

I've been reading news stories about how cocaine is becoming very common among the middle class in Ireland.

Come on man, you’re Irish, right? No one drinks in the jacks, ewwww! Coke isn’t a big thing in Ireland really. No drug will ever overtake alcohol here and that’s a sad thing in a way.

Oh as for bars in Dublin.... the hairy lemon, Brannigan’s, porterhouse in temple bar, Fitzgerald’s are ones I attend. If you’re looking for gig pubs then that’s another list.
 
There's probably some white powder knocking about that may have some semblance of coke in it

But yeah the national drug is, was and always will be ethanol

I mean if you go into the "right" pub at the "right" time then alot of pubs u will find cocaine.

Ive noticed the rise of cocaine in supply over the past few years all over the Uk unfortunately at the demise of other good chemicals.

Wouldnt suprise to see ireland having the same issue. As for more prevelant than alcohol i doubt that but some pubs it might hold some truth

Ireland isn’t the UK.

Yes, coke is about but it’s nowhere near the same levels as the UK.

EtOH is our poison.
 
I didnt say it was. Just that it wouldnt suprise me to see ireland having the same issue as the U.K in terms of drug supply. I could be wrong but most of what ireland gets the uk gets too right and vice versa?


Is there any drug that is legal in ireland thats not in the uk as we have that stupid blanketban?

The Irish are nothing like the English.

Actually, we get drugs the English don’t get. We are part of the EU now don’t forget. The UK isn’t. The pretty RC market isn’t so hard to break into from here.
 
Interesting i jus assumed alot of the illegal stuff would spread into all countries in the british isles specifically heroin/ coke.

I know nothing about the cocaine/heroin trade of course but would assume the connections overseas to these parts would be similar.

The Irish and the ordinary English bod or more alike than you would know. Have you ever lived in England? Do you know English people? There's a big difference between a brit, a west brit etc, ordinary English bods are more like the Irish than yourself nearly. There's 32 counties and many 33 rds.
 
Coppers is shyte its owned by a garda or at least was. There are no seats. But you'll find folk from all over Ireland there. D2 has a nice r feel, garden inside out stuff. Coppers int nice.

Sucj as? Will I be able to go shopping when I visit? Rife with heroin I know, I'm sure flooded with dodgy shyte from chyna now they've taken a lot of soup in Dail eireann?
I'll have to bring home some ham, spuds white pudding, good butter frommayo.... The air the turf the milk are the best drug on the island.
