alright
Well I have to admit am new to the scene...your guys scene....and i must say its a very lovely scene indeed. I come from a totlly different scene, Punk, and just recently been exploring these partys, I want to say that you guys have a special thing going for you. You have created something that is true pure and more or less what alot of people want in there scene. Now comming from the people of Punk mostly in Detroit and Flint Mi area I have seen a scene what was made in the early 80's till now actually defeat itself what was once a scene of Unity and messeges has been down grated to a bunch of pissy, ignorant(well mostly ignorant), people. Full of rage for things that they have no way/motavation to change..which it was all based on right? But i just wanna say that even though i havent been able (yet

) to fully understand/figure out/ or experience your scene but so far it seems to be one of the best out there. And i dont want to be a nay sayer but it seems to me that with the emphisis on self indulgence and the amazing amout of aceptance at these parties that it could very eaisly turn or be taken over by something else, maybe something you and i dont want. With the growing popularity of drugs such as E and other drugs taken at raves it could fall apart. due to ignorance and people who wanted another thing for punk that must of us diddnt. And i also have pretty much beened shuned by all of my old friends with spikes/chains/tatoos cause im not preeching all hate and rage tword all things. i mean dont get me wrong i love to get into things such things like changing/being active in politics, and being active in a scene that has a good purpose, respect, unity, and a love for all no matter what race, sexuall prefrance, or origin. I just want to say you peeps have a good thing going something that one day i might be able to apreciate more and on another level, but please dont let ignorance and stupidity get in the way and let your things get down cause it could really easly, i think anyways be taken away.......i emphisise this, from my experience, love your scene love it love it love it...but dont be another ignorant that ruins so many good things....
UNITY we gotta stay togather...op ivy

i def. took that to heart, it might be something that we dont want to think about but i believe it could happen, we have to remember why we are who we are

Vagrant, thank you. I too, used to be involved in the punk scene for a year or two when I was in high school. Then moved to Germany and was introduced to the rave scene. I was in the same situation as you are with OUR scene. Its not my scene, nor is it your scene, its OUR scene. No matter how new you are to it. I felt some of the same things you did toward the scene. Its great and I truly am in love with it.
I most definitely agree w/ you about the scene not being inpenetrable. Our scene COULD fall victim to a bunch of bullshit. I for one never want to see that happen. Like I have said in the past, and I am sure Vagrant will back me on this one, we have to take the welfare of our scene and the people involved with it seriously. I hear people say stuff like "why take the scene seriously? We are supposed to be having fun right?" YES!!! that is the purpose of our scene along with the other 50 reasons we go. But, at the same time we have to respect it, and maintain it. I think its DJ Krushs tune MAINTAIN....."I know what is, and I got to maintain" Not only ourselves and family and friends, but what we hold dear to our hearts. For me the rave scene is inside me, never to leave. I will always take the rave scene seriously. I will always respect its power to move people, in more ways than just 1. I dont wanna be a nay sayer either, but, I feel that people are mistaking the rave scene for something else. I can see what Vagrant sees in that we are so open-minded that we forget that what we do could be harmful to the scene as a whole. The media doesnt help one bit either. Someone can die, supposedly, from E alone and it gets linked to the rave scene. Because E is pretty much synonymous with the rave scene. Everyone and their mother is out to shut us off. Thats the way it seems to me. We are letting too much bad shit happen inside the raves. I dont know a solution to the whole problem. I dont even know if there is one.
Neways, really good post Vagrant. I love your attitude, its real.

hey thanks its nice to know that there is someone....and i doubt your the only one...that really apreciates a good true scene

im in san diego...a former punker, if i oculd be so inclined as to call myself. yes, this scene is very fragile, and its very similar to what killed the scene down here. a scene cnetered on unity and respect for music and each other was destroyed by the greed of just one man, whom had gained enuf power to monopolize the punk/ska club scene, bullying other clubs to shut down. finally, he sold out to goldne voice, whoom by that time had driven the prices of shows up so high that the kids werent going anymore. the club closed recently, but a few tiny clubs are starting to blossom again, and hopefully the next generation will have something lik ei did, something that was about having fun, not about selling out or judgement.

"Never never never never never never let me me go" she says
"Hold me like ths for a hundred thousand million days"
but suddenly she slows
and looks down at my breaking face
"why do you cry? what did i say?"
"but its just rain" i smile
brushing my tears away...
