Omicron drives US deaths higher than in fall's delta wave
Omicron, the highly contagious coronavirus variant sweeping across the country, is driving the daily American death toll higher than during last fall's delta wave, with deaths likely to keep rising for days or even weeks.

Australia has about 100 deaths a day, which is approaching US numbers if you account for the population difference.
More people aren't dying from omicron, it's just all happening at once... which is a good thing as far as I'm concerned.
We've hit the peak of omicron already in some Australian states and our numbers are declining.
I think, when this is all over, the US will have ten times the death toll of Australia and probably twenty times the death toll of NZ... But it's very difficult to measure the harm lockdowns have done.
I don't think there's a winning approach. There are different approaches. Each has positives and negatives.

99+% recovery rate…actually in the very high 99.??% rate….so no matter how you slice it the vaccine gives you more of a chance of ADRs than it does potentially save you…gain a small fraction of a percent on the front end and lose a couple percent on the back end…stupid, plain n simple
